I would definitely recommend this beatiful hotel to anyone - especially couples- planning to visit Venice. It is very convieniently located on the Grand Canal just opposite the reailway station. This is especially important if you are arriving by train from other cities in Italy. If you chose to fly to Venice directly you can take the bus form airport which stops at 5 min away from the hotel. And the vaporetto is likewise just departs in front of the railway station. It was a perfect location, a 5-10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square but tucked away from the crowds of tourists in Venice. It was as nice as a hotel but felt small and quaint instead of industrial. The staff member that worked there was extraordinary. She was the most pleasant person we met in Venice.

from their website I went straight from the St. Mark's vaporetto

The hotel is just off main walking alley Calle dei Fabbri some 4 minutes north from San Marco. The distance between houses on opposite side in this area are tiny co do not expect any view from your window. If you do not mind this then Residenza la Loggia might be just the right place for your stay.
