We stayed at the Venice h+h for 5 nights and it was perfect! We decided to spend an extra 100 or so euros to get an apartment instead of a hotel room and we saved a few hundred euros catering for ourselves instead of relying on the expensive restaurants of Venice. The apartment was very large and modern with everything you could need for a stay of any length. We stayed in San Zuccaria which was a 10 min walk to St Mark's sq and Rialto bridge but still not in a busy crowded tourist area. Overall.
all reviews » Location was excellent - close to St Marks, Rialto and the water bus stops at San Zaccarina. 5 mins walk from Coop supermarket and many restaurants and take aways. The apartment was very nice and spacious with two rooms and reasonably well renovated. Everything in venice looks worn down from the outside but once inside, the apt was very nice. Donatella and Elise were excellent hostesses and responded very priomptly to all questions and queries. Definitely recommended. Btw tourists to Venice mus. The location of the apartment was very good. Shops and vaporette within a few hundred meters. We are very positive about Venice Homes & Holidays because of a number of reasons. Our contact was Donatella: 1. Her reaction was very fast and adequate; 2. Her assistance in travelling to Venice was actual and reliable. There happened to be a strike and Venice Homes & Holidays took care for a water-taxi; 3. The hostesses were very friendly and helpful; 4. The apartment was complete and modern;. Very luxurious apartment. View was awesome. Very quiet area of Venice. Staff went above expectations in arranging for me to have a rental wheelchair and brought it both to apartment and took it back to pharmacy for me. That made it a lot easier to get around from the first moment we got off our water taxi to get to the apartment. Otherwise my family would have had to do all that research and gone to get one. We stayed in rooms over the market place on the south side of the Rialto bridge. This is where real Venetians work and university students hang out. Perfectly positioned - far enough from the tourist trails to be quiet and yet not far from the sites. Recommended for people who have enough gumption to look after themselves. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Location was excellent quite and not far from public transportation and San Marco square. Place was clean kitchen was equipped with all we needed from pots and pans to have a good meal at home away from home.close to a grocery store making life more easy with kids for breakfast. Location is perfect . It is just behind the San Marco square and very close to Zaccaharia vaporetta station. The facility is like a house ( full equipped kitchen, washing machine etc. ) , so don't wait house cleaning service .You have to do everything yourself. I will recommend to all travelers. Great apartment - spacious, comfortable, wonderful views and very well equipped. Close to vaporetti stop giving very fast and easy access to central Venice. Очень уютно. . everything, location,beauty, architecture,vaporetto pass,quiet location after a busy day walking and sightseeing,was there 13 years ago and the pigeons and rubbish! now few pigeons and felt clean and safe. The locatoion was quet without hordes of touristgroups outside. Pittoresk sourroundings walking to and fro the rented flat. Nice carpets on the floor and good wooden italian furniture. We loved the location in a part of Venice that was away from tourists. The flat had plenty of room for a family of four. The check-in was seamless and the flat was as described. The apartment was very clean and well-maintained; and, while the building it is in at first appeared rundown, we felt secure and safe and in a good neighborhood close to shops and transportation, if we needed it, into the heart of Venice. The apartment was very clean and spacious. For a younger family or couples in their 40's & 50's it's comfortable and near to many areas of shopping and restaurants. 1-Location 2-The venice map given to us by the staaf was helpful end useful during our stay. The apartment was big and it wasn't so far of piazza di san marco. Nice ambiance. Excellent and friendly service. Good location. Nothing, everything was great. Our apartment did not have WiFi; not very apparent from the booking but not realy a problem as there are plenty of hot spots around. Needs a kettle for making tea and coffee. Boiling water with a large pot made it a bit difficult to get the water into the tea pot! Otherwise awesome. The rooms were dark - but who is going to stay indoors in Venice?. Nothing other than the bedding was not very comfortable. Meeting arranged with VHH staff at the apartment didn't go well and we waited for 30 mins in the rain. crowds of tourist but we beat them to st Marks square and down the grand canal at 6.30am. Bliss. A little too thin floors between the flat above and our ceiling. Lack of outdoor possibilities / small veranda or similar facilities. The design of the bathroom was not well suited. Also, we were there during a heat wave and needed help with the air-con or would have enjoyed a fan. Nothing to dislike. - Bathroom - The shower was in the bathtub and there was no shower curtain so it wetted the bathroom everytime we had a shower. Plus that is was dangerous to have a shower in the bathtub as it was slippery and there were no handles to prevent falling when getting in or out. The floor could have been cleaned but otherwise there was no dirt in the apartment :). Nothing. One of the bed sofas was broken, but we could use it anyway. One of the lamps was also broken, and one of the chairs wasn't good too. The apartment was a bit run down but still ok for the money. Furnish could be better although it was enough to experience the true living in a Venice apartment. Some of the equipments were not working (Gas lighter) There should be an universal adapter placed in the apartment. Apartment was better suited to four people rather than five, but the couch was okay. No real living area for family to relax. Would have preferred another couch instead of the large coffee table. could do with a bigger fridge. The crowds of touritsts always in our way But sincei this city is a must... we should not complain. Service charges in some restaurants. The apartment had no air conditioning only a fan and we found it very difficult to sleep not being accustomed to the heat. Most of the people are nice, but we felt that probably some are tired of tourists :-) It's a tricky place for living... very nice for visiting!!!. Nothing!. When I got to Venice, most of the streets were covered with sea water. After asking a reception lady,I bought 4 boots for my family but they were useless. It had never happened again. 4th floor, very high, not convenient for laggages. -unpredictable wifi. No wifi and the washing machine did not work after being told it did work. Street noise during the night all night. Washing machine didnt work properly. There was a mix-up with the time of our arrival. it was mostly lack of effective communication and/or understanding. By the time we got to our waterstop, the person arranged to meet us had left. We were charged 30 euros for her to come back to let us in. what was the alternative? Four people stranded overnight? I think the 30 euros should have been absorbed by Venice Homes and Holidays. The flights of stairs. no staff around. No air-conditioning! I would not recommend staying here during the hottest summer months if, at the end of a long day trekking round Venice, you expect to return home for some cool respite. There were a couple of fans, but they did not cool the apartment or us sufficiently and we were quite miserable. The advert was deceiving as we were lead to believe the apartment was near Rialto but actually the admin office is in that location. The washing machine and tv were both broken which was annoying. The location was very noisy as it was a market during the day with souvenir vendors and coffee bars. The night time was extremely noisy with the younger set meeting for drinks etc. Our apt overlooked the square. Also, for a senior.....not good as there is no lift.......and many stairs to reach the apt. 1-Heating system do not worked. It was November??? 2- In the booking confirmation It was right ''Apartment is set on second floors" but in fact it was ground and first floor. 3- Tv sat antena and toasting machine do not worked. It doesn't have wifii and its a little insecure the front door. No wireless internet access. Some doors are hard to lock . One of the toilet doors are broken.

Check-in from 20:00 until 23:00 costs extra EUR 30. Check-in after 23:00 costs extra EUR 50. A staff member will meet you at the arranged pick-up point or the nearest Vaporetto (waterbus) station, accompany you to your apartment, and go through check-in with you. Please note that a deposit of EUR 300 must be paid on arrival. This will be returned at check-out, subject to a damage inspection. If you plan to travel with pets please contact the property in advance to check if the chosen accommodation is suitable. The property reserves the right to refuse entrance to any additional guests exceeding the number of guests written on the reservation.
