Venice-Lido Hotels

My partner and I stayed in one of the Villa Laguna suites with a superb view of the lagoon. This gave us the impression to have our little cosy and romantic Venetian apartment to get back to after a busy day at the Conference we were attending. The suite was very welcoming, spotless clean, nicely furnished and decorated, with a big and very comfortable bed. Yes, you are not in the centre of Venice - otherwise you would probably pay much more for this level of quality, but the waterbus stop is on - Rowan

This is an ideal hotel if you would like to get away from the hectic tourism in Venice. It doesn't take long on the Vaporetto and the views are great along the way! The hotel was great value for this standard. Our room was clean and very spacious along with a large, modern bathroom. Breakfast was good, standard continental. The hotel is directly across from the beach and have a roof terrace. We mostly ate on the Lido as was more reasonable than Venice. I would definately recommend this restauran - Christina

Very good location outside Venice centre. The hotel is 5-7 minutes walk from the Vaparetto stop on The Lido. St Mark's Square is just 10 minutes by aporetto and they run all day long. Our room was small and clean, suprisingly bathroom was huge. Breakfast which was included was good too. Only con is WiFi reception only in the lobby, although free, there are some shops and restaurants and even a supermarket close by. A good place to eat is "La Pizzeria" close to the Vaporetto - David

This hotel is truly fantastic the staff are friendly nothing too much trouble. We went for my 60th birthday with our Son and his wife. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening very expensive but it made the occasion. Wonderful meal. The breakfast was like nothing we have seen before it was a feast for a king and no one rushed you they were still bringing bacon out at 10.30 The boat to and from Venice was a real treat as it ran up to 12 midnight. I was at Venecia from 7th-17th july with my wife, its our 3rd stay. Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria hotel is beautiful old hotel , its near center of Lido di Venezia, is wery easy to take waterbus to St.Mark's Square. Breakfast is very nice and there is everything you like, its allmost you dont have to eat anything thill next day. Of course, coffe is one of best I ever tryed. Positioned a stone's throw from the Lido vaporettpo stop this was the ideal position to see Venice from. involving only a short trip to St Marks.Hotel is a throwback to another age with some truly old fashioned decor but with lots of old fashioned courtesy and service which was much appreciated.We were initially placed in a smallish room but were offered a larger room after the first night.Although the room seemed fine to us ,having experienced much smaller rooms in other parts of Italy, the new - Alan

I stayed for 5 nights at the start of October. My room, number 52, was relatively small but comfortable and did the trick. The only problem I had, was a large green shutter over the outside of my window that I couldn't prop up, so I didn't have much of a view! Very odd. The windows were also single glazed, so noise from outside could be easily heard. My bathroom was brilliant (although, who still uses a bidet?!) and the shower was superb. We liked the breakfast that included pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruits and sometimes shaved meats or cheeses, plus cute carafes of coffee and milk brought to your table. You can eat outside it nice courtyard or inside too. Staff was helpful and multilingual. Hall lights are on motion sensors and room lights operate with you room key...nice efforts to promote energy saving. Rooms are small and so is shower; if you are heavy or tall, you may want to look for somewhere roomier. i am 5'4" and - Alex
