The entire experience was outstanding. The staff at Ulisse were the best we have ever encountered in all respects - politeness, a great help with my Italian language, local knowledge - they could not do enough for us. The hotel absolutely exceeded all our expectations and should be classified as a 5 Star! Elegant, immaculate, very spacious - a degree of comfort rarely found! A true find!.

The chambermaids were sweet. The breakfastswere refreshing! A place to stay for sure!!! ..Lovely big rooms, always lovely and clean. We loved it there and as it is such a short walk (as in 2 mins) to the main streets in Sorrento it was perfect. Having no balcony isn't an issue as you are so close to the most beautiful views anyway you don't need them.. :) Helpfull, friendly staff also. I have been telling everyone about it since we got back!. Travelled throughout Italy for 2 weeks in June and found our room for four people to be very spacious, clean and quiet, with excellent air conditioning, and a great value. It is also centrally located and within easy walking distance of the city center, marinas, etc. When returning to Sorrento, we will surely stay at the Ulisse Deluxe.The hostel was like nothing we could have imagined. It was beautiful, the room was large and very clean, the rate was incredible. We actually enjoyed it so much we cancelled a reservation in Naples just to stay there one more night. It was very close to everything in Sorrento and very safe to walk around. We couldn't believe this was a "hostel"! Our room was was great, with a large bathroom, fridge, and king bed, very quiet. The location was perfect for getting around Sorrento, just at the edge of the wonderful old town. Excellent value- the best rate we got in all of Italy!. This hotel was awesome! It is beautiful on the inside. The room was spacious. The bathroom was wonderful. The staff was helpful and gracious. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for an inexpensive option and do not care about a view from your hotel room. The label of "hostel" is deceiving. The hotel is opulent and well appointed, the staff are friendly, knowledgable and very helpful, and from the front door it's 10 minutes to the Marina Grande or 10 minutes to the heart of Sorrento. Large, excellent room, nice lounge area, large window, good staff, excellnt location near old town and restaurants and low price- just like the reviews- a 3-4 star hotel at 1-star price. I was at the train Terminal in rome trying to get to my nextdestination without an address/phone number etc. I called Ulysse and theyoung man who answered my call...ran up and retrieved the paper with allthe details and saved me alot of frustration. A small thing, but the buffet breakfast should just be included, as there was really no way to just have a partial breakfast. We had to fix the computer ourselves, as it was set on "handicapped", and took forever to type each letter. The breakfast was marginal--though the price was okay and it is convenient.Nothing particularly, but be aware that you will be charged extra for air conditioning, the use of the fridge and safe, and will also be charged for towel/linen changes - you get nought for nought! That said though the charges are reasonable and the Hostel is very competitively priced. Everything was perfect and I would recommend this hotel to familyand friends.A bit confussing as to its location tried several times before a local told me to keep going down.the road and under the bridge. The map to find it !! It appeared that the hotel was off the main street, when in actual fact the main street runs over it, and you have to walk down steps to get to the street the hotel is on. If this can be indicated in the directions and map for the hotel, it would make navigating a lot easier.A little bit far from the central. 15~20 minutes walk to the central/station. A little difficult to find; suggest call them for exact directions. If I had to pick one negative, the hotel had no water view. Other than that it was perfect. we did not eat breakfast there since we read it was not good.I didn't like that it cost extra for air-conditioning or that it wasn't communicated that it would was an additional charge until we were checked into our room. considering the price??? ... Nothing. car park was not finished it was more like a building site I'm afraid to say. we were quite unsure whether or not to leave our car there, thankfully it was ok there though. I hope the carpark will be finished soon. Breakfast could have been better, maybe more selection, however thecoffee was lovely.We didnt get our towels changed in the whole week we were there. no scenic views. Didn't bother with breakfast. it was hard to communicate at times with the people on the desk, but they tried their best, no doubt they have to speak a few languages.It was impossible to walk with luggage from the train station to the hotel. Noise from other rooms at times, tiles echo through rooms however nogreat issue. No Pool (wellness centre attached to hotel but must pay andindoor pool only). Extra costs for clean linen and use ofairconditioning but with low initial cost for room then this is notreally an issue (we didnt need a/c in our case). These are all veryminor and highly recommend staying at this place.The air conditioning wasn't the best. Parking is a bit dear but then the hotel itself is so inexpensive. view sucked....guess that's what you get when you don't want to pay an arm and a leg.... Complimentary breakfast was not enough, we bought our own breakfast instead of paying the 5 euro a day for their buffet.

Travelling information

By Air:
From Capodichino International Airport in Naples, which is connected to the major international and Italian airports. If requested, a car will pick you up at the airport and take you to Sorrento in approximately one hour. There is also a public bus service from the airport to Sorrento.

By Train:
Arrive at Naples Central Station. Change to the local train, the Circumvesuviana, which leaves for Sorrento every 20-30 minutes. The journey to Sorrento (last stop) takes one hour and 15 minutes. If requested, a car will pick you up at Naples Central and take you to Sorrento. The local train station is just 1 km from the hostel.

By car:
- Take the A3 Napoli-Pompei-Salerno motorway.
- Exit at Castellammare di Stabia.
- Follow the signs to Sorrento.
- Once in Sorrento, go to end of Corso Italia (near the hospital), here, tun left into Via del Mare.
- After 100 metres you will find the hotel.

By Hydrofoil:
Daily services are available all year round with departures from Naples (Beverello pier) and Capri. The harbour is just 1 km from the hostel.
