Siracusa Hotels

We stayed two nights that turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Sicily. A wonderful apartment for my wife and two teenage children. A loft upstairs (with a patio on the roof)and a master bedroom below adjoining the living and dining rooms. A small kitchen area but we did not cook, just used the refrigerator. All clean and roomy. Parking could be a problem but we found a nearby free spot and left the car there until leaving. One does not need a car in Syracusa as long as you are in modest - John

It is not a 5 star. Beautiful property, elegant public spaces, nice rooms. Beautiful views if you pay more. No frills. Most inconvenient: if you arrive by car there is no parking space - parking is 10 minutes (no dilly-dallying ) walk away (public parking garage) and no one to park your car or to get it. Don't get a room under the restaurant because you are going to hear the chairs moving during breakfast... - Rod

We stayed two nights. The hotel's location was very good, but as it was in the center of town, parking was somewhat of a problem. There is free street parking, but sometimes it's a little hard to find. Our room was small but comfortable. The hotel occupies one floor of the building, and is only a few years old. Staff was very friendly and helpful and they served a good breakfast. It was easy to get to Ortygia, the island which houses most of the restaurants, but would be a long walk. There is fr - Robert

We stayed for two nights in this beautiful and modern hotel as part of our 3 week holiday trip around Sicily. We absolutely loved the hotel, especially it's very friendly and attentive staff who go that 'extra mile' for you! The room (basic double room - 119 euros per night B&B) was really spacious and the bathroom was gorgeous! The rooftop pool, with built in jacuzzi and water jets, was just lovely and a perfect way to end off the day. It's very well located for visiting the Greek theatre, - Robert

After touring Sicily and staying at mainly quaint, rustic hotels it was a breath of fresh air for our last night to turn up at the Caol Ishka and be greeted by contemporary design and a location that may not be for some but was perfect for us wanting to take a break from the busy Sicilian towns. In a single word, the Hotel Cavalieri is quite simply gorgeous. The proprietor's good taste and background as an architect are clearly evident in the exquisite blend of antiques and contemporary furnishings in the public areas. The large bedroom and bathroom represented modern taste at its best. Speaking of taste: the breakfast was ample, and featured some lovely cakes baked by the proprietor's mother. My wife and I arrived in Sicily for our honeymoon - only to find that Alitalia had lost our luggage on the connection in Rome. After a frustrating two hours in the airport, we drove down to Syracuse and checked into the hotel with nothing but my wife's purse. upon arrival, the staff was amazingly helpful - first calling Alitalia and translating in Italian for us, next upgrading our room for no extra fee, and lastly bringing strawberries champagne and robes up to our room to allow us to relax - Haein

This little place, tucked away down a side-street, is an ingenious use of space, tall and thin and quite unique. We went "wow" when we entered the room - the facilities were amazing; a mini-kitchen in the corner, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, even a free internet terminal to use in the room. If you have a GPS & are trying to navigate your way, by car... you are in one heck of a harrowing nightmare of going around Ortigia... but once you arrive there ( god bless Antonio of the Royal Maniace ), you are transported into a different world !! What a location.. outstanding.. we were there, when the Sicily was hit by a storm, hence the waves that lashed out at the sea wall, made a tremendous sight !!
