Hotel Ercoli is a very clean and friendly place. The room is really small (we had standard double) so it suits for those who are looking for a good bed in the end of a long day spent in beautiful Rome. There is a very good breakfast (fresh bread, cheese, ham, eggs, jams, cakes, yogurts, etc.). The staff is friendly and helpful (old Italian guy Tomaso is very talkative and funny). The hotel is suited not far away from Termimi station (15 minutes walk). Though it is not that close to it so you av.

Its about a 10 minute walk from the Roma Termini (which feels long with luggage) but very conveniently located with good bus connections to the entire city. Looking at the hotel building from outside, and going up an ancient elevator, we were a little apprehensive of our choice. But the moment Thomas let us into the hotel, it was a revelation. Its a nice cozy neat and clean place, I think recently done up as. Stayed only for a night but is a simple clean budget friendly place Location - walking distance of Republicca Piazza and Termini so perfect for roaming all around Rome Staff : While there were some who did not know English and conversations hence a little belabored, they were friendly and helpful - called for a taxi. In one word: amazing! It's really close to the city and the subway station, close to the train station where you can take the bus to the airport. Really nice staff and good food in the morning. All the Staff speaks English and that's a real plus. The perfect hotel, where you can relax after sightseeing. Clean, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, great staff. The staff at the hotel on entry was amazingly friendly. After having a not so good experience elsewhere in Italy, I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful gentleman at the reception. Hotel is neat and best stay for a short break. Proximity to the centre is also good. The building of the hotel is also nice old roman style which is what we wanted to experience. In our room (number 8) the water pressure was very-very poor and it was difficult to regulate the temperature of water. We just slept in the hotel and had breakfast so it worked fine for us. Some noise of some pump at night was quite irritating!. Smell : there was a weird smell; not in the room but the corridors outside which i could not place.. but not very obstrusive and not a deterrent to stay but still i found it slightly irksome. The shower water pressure is a bit low. the triple room was a bit small. The old guy that usually stay in the night shift is the most rude hotel staff I've ever had the displeasure to meet. I really hope he gets fired and replaced by someone as able as the rest of the staff. there is no metro station near from the hotel. there is no parking if you have rent a car. The staff don't change the towels during the stay. Shower - very difficult to adjust water temperature. For unknown reason you have charged me 2x for my stay on my credit card!!!!!!!!!!!!Once prepaid and now second time!!!!!!!!That makes it very expensive stay!. Breakfast could have been better. Firstly there were not much variety and secondly what ever was there was of little low quality. You would be left with little choices just to fill the stomach. Shower very bad: low water preassure, and no way to regulate cold/hot water properly. Our room was next to reception, so quite noisy. The shower was not good at all. The warm water pressure was very low. The hair dryer was not working. During the night the sound of some kind of pumping was annoying whole night. The room was quite small, but we were out most of the day, and I would have liked more/better meat selection for breakfast. The shower did not work properly. We were preparing to check out at 11am and at 10.30am a shouting lady asked us to leave the room sort of rudely. Bookings said 11am, but the hotel argued that check out time was 10.30. I think manners are free. Hot water sometimes gets cold because of boiler. No fridge. the water pressure pump in the hotel is very noisy. It will wake you up early in the morning. lady who cleaned the rooms,never smiles always rude. I booked 2 adjoining rooms and a second room. What we found when we arrived was a cramped room with 2 double beds and a full bed. The second room was so small you could barely move around the bed. The staff were sullen and at times nasty. No amenities. Dark and desperately in need of updates.
