Hotel de Monti is perfect if you're looking for a
quiet,small,perfectly located hotel!Mauro offers a great personal
service telling you were to go,where to eat etc. I would recommend
getting the train to the termini in the centre from the airport and not
getting a taxi,i used the gps on my phone to find the hotel but its
pretty straight forward once you have the address. It only took us 10
mins walk with suitcases to get there.It was great to be located away
from the hustle n bustle of the main. all reviews »
The hotel was perfectly located - within walking distance of the
colosseum, pantheon, Trevi fountain, and Spanish quarter. It is also
right around the corner from the metro and down the street from Termini
Station, which runs to one of the airports in Rome. There are also a
number or good restaurants of all prices very near, within 10 minutes
walking at a leisurely pace. The staff was very friendly and helpful,
giving tips on how to get into the Colosseum and Roman Forum without
waiting 4 hours.
Perfect location in an interesting historic area, walking distance to
most main sights and Termini station. Lots of restaurants nearby in the
streets off via Panisperna. Reception is only open for a few hour and we
arrived later, aware we would have to pay a late check in fee of 30
euro. Hotel contacted us by email and offered for 55 inclusive of this
to have a car pick us up from airport - this service is highly
recommended as its not much more than a taxi and took the stress out of
finding th.
Clean, comfortable rooms, a decent price, and great location. Just a
short walk to the Colosseum and other historical sites, as well as to
Termini. A slightly longer walk takes you to the river and some very
nice restaurants. And I felt safe even getting lost at night. Wonderful
atmosphere in the surrounding neighborhood. Helpful and friendly staff
offered great advice on places to eat, places to shop and getting around
in the city.
We were greeted by Mauro who was full of information and gave some
excellent advice. He told us to walk everywhere, which we did. 10 mins
to the Colosseum, 50 mins to the Vatican. He also told us how to avoid
queues and some great restaurants.
The room was very clean and well equipped but quite small. Excellent breakfast delivered to the room is included.
Would stay here again if visiting Rome.
Hotel de Monti is perfect for visiting Rome. We had 4 days and was close to most things. Very clean, the guys were most helpful and we loved the fact that we could open our window onto the street and watch the world go by. Fantastic area for cafes and restaurants and also young fashion designers. The area was close to termini station and was the perfect hotel for our needs.
Great little place not far from all the major attractions - walking distance if you're normally fit. About 7 minutes walk from the main railway station which is handy. Owner Mauro is an absolute gem - speaks better English than me and will recommend all the best places to visit/ eat/ drink etc. Breakfast in bed a nice touch!.
We absolutely loved the staff. Mauro and Alessandro were both very helpful in guiding us through the entire city. They gave us a lot of tips on dos and don'ts which were greatly appreciated and came in handy.

Alessandro's introduction to the city gave us an appreciation for Roma and things to do that were real. He knows this city! We have been to Rome before and it was great to listen to him and get off the beaten path. The hotel room was very modern and super clean.

Super Friendly Stuff, clean rooms, excellent value for money and a wonderful breakfast, short walk to all the sites, in a safe area as you have a carabinieri station down the road and great shopping one street over on via natzionale.
The room was clean and new. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The location is in the middle of everything...short walks to the ruins, famous piazzas, fine restaurants. Overall, an EXCELLENT hotel.

The bathroom door in our room was broken. It just needed a little fix,
nothing outstanding.
How about providing a pot of "coffee Americano"? If you want
to hang out in your room, this is not the place for you.
This hotel charges 30 Euros for late check in after 18:00, so it is
advisable to arrange your arrival earlier if you want to avoid this
charge. The rooms are in the 3rd floor with no lift, so do not stay here
if this would cause problems.
Personally I loved it - but be aware the place is up a few flights of stairs and is not your typical chain hotel by any means. If that's what you want don't stay here! We also had the smallest room (number 36) - which was absolutely fine for us, but if you can ask for a bigger one then do.....
The breakfast had a lot of choices but I would have preferred one option of protein other then the cold cuts. Other then that, no complaints.

Just ignore the appearance of the entrance-it cannot be changed by municipal laws.

Not really a hotel, just a room!
Three flights of stairs were hard work (although w knew that before we booked) and we were offered help. The stairs were also dirty and broken in places- not in the hotel's control.

Our room backed onto the breakfast preparation room which meant that there was a lot of noise starting daily from 6.30am.
The noise in the morning when the staff were preparing the breakfasts was really quite loud and kept me awake from ~6.30am ish. We were in the room next to the kitchen so I would image the noise was loudest there and ok in other rooms.
The room was a bit tight. No room for luggage. No elevator which was
inconvenient.
Staff not around so had to pay in advance and put breakfast selection on a paper that was not clear and put keys in mail slot. Rooms very small. Bed uncomfortable. Not worth the price.
Overpriced. Run-down building.
