The area in which the hotel was situated was brilliant. So untypical but suurounded by some good restaurants and bars and easy access to the usual haunts of Rome either by walking or by using public transport. None really but taxi drivers found it hard to find.

From Viale Trastevere, you can cross Ponte Garibaldi, enjoying the view of Isola Tiberina, a small island of volcanic origin, in the middle of the Tiber, with an active hospital and church on it. Continuing your walk to Largo Argentina, you are at a point where you can easily walk in all four directions and enjoy the best of Rome: one turn takes you to Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum and the Coleuses; another to the Pantheon Piazza Navona Via del Corso (shopping area); the third to Via dei Condotti and Piazza del Popolo; and finally, the last takes you to Chiesa Nuova, Castel Sant'Angelo , San Pierto, and the Vatican Museum.
