The Spanish Steps are 10 minutes walk away from the Diplomatic Hotel, as is Saint Peter's Basilica. You will have great bus links. City bus tours start from outside the hotel. Rooms are spacious and air conditioned, with satellite TV and a minibar. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Our stay was very pleasant. Service is very good, the hotel is ideally located (everything is at walking distance), the room in courtyard is very quiet and the service unflawed. Given the special promotion we obtained, this hotel was fantastic. Still at a normal rate, this hotel should be warmly recommended (in comparison to many others in Roma which are by far more expensive but far older and less sympathic).
all reviews » This was our first stay at the Diplomatic - we arrived at Ciampino Airport at 8.20pm and used the Cottrall bus to take us the Aanagnina metro stantion. From the station at Lepante we walked 15 mins to our Hotel.We found our room very clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful. The breakfast room was very pleasant as were the staff and we enjoyed the food available. Service was excellent.Location of the hotel is excellent, within walking distance of nearly all of the main sights. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Would recommend Hotel Diplomatic very highly. The room was an excellent size for Rome and it was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also a great size with a bath.Helpful staff. The stairs lift very slow. My only complaint is that we spent 2 hours and 8 euros on a slow computer to print boarding passes that were useless b/c the printer needed a new ink cartridge. You might get the desk people to do that for you. We didn't have a view, but we didn't have street noise, which, for us, was preferable. All in all, we were very pleased with our choice. Breakfast was a bit sparse- due to space restictions, but acceptable.breakfast was not very good, especially for Rome. Our room was very noisy - meaning we could hear conversations from other rooms, doors opening and closing etc. It also was a bit smoky in the room and we suspect that was coming through the ventilation rather than that the room had not ben freshened after a previous occupant.No. the pillows were hard. Breakfast could be better. noisy street at night due to traffic. No tea/coffee making facilities. The matress on the bed was a little hard.The breakfast staff were very unfriendly,I would say positively rude,also our room was at the front of the Hotel and even with double glazing it was very noisy,there was a disco next door on the Sat night and we were awoken at 5am to screaming and roaring that went on until 6.15am.I complained to the front desk but they seemed disinterested.Also it is better to arrange your own taxi transfer. The room lacked certain essentials: tea and cofee making facilities and an information pack about the hotel and local attractions would have been useful.Bed was shocking, was told they were all the same. We had a non-smoking room on a smoking floor (all floors were smoking), was disgusting with smoke in hallways and entering room.

The diplomatic is a delicious 3 star hotel located ina characteristic umbertino's style building completely renewed.
On the first floor there is a patio a full of light ambient where you can relax in quitness.
