the staff were amazingly helpful!! and it was literally a 5minute walk to the colloseum and all major site of interest!! we walked the whole time we were in rome and nothing was to much for the staff. we were lent books for reading and were advised to see other parts of rome that were not conventional but extremely beautiful, we were so glad that we didnt miss out on anything. Our stay at Aenea was just wonderful. The location was great (very close to Termini train station and all other sightseeing spots.) and the room was very clearn. Our luggage arrived late (due to the airline mistake) and the owner of Aenea was kind enough to stay late in the evening to wait for it to help us. We give the highest rating for the hotel.all reviews »
Great location. It was only me and my young daughter and we felt very safe. The staff was very helpful and even gave tips on what to tour and the best way to get there. I liked having breakfast available in my room. The room was very clean and spacious. I recommend this hotel as the place to stay and a real bargin in price. staying at the Aenean Superior Inn was fantastic the room was large and bright,comfortable and the guys on the desk were great they gaves us maps with the directions to the places we wanted to see everthing was in walking distance but you also had the option a trains not far awaywould recommend it to anyone would suit all. very clean room with water kettle and lots of tea/coffee and snack. less than 10 min walk from termini, 1 min walk from bus stop, 2 min walk from tourist info booth. very convenient location. friendly staff that speaks excellent english. they let me keep the luggage in the storage room and drop off keys late afternoon. I really liked the hotel - very beautiful room and service on the high level. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and are always open to help in case of some problems. I will defenetly will stay there next time I visit Rome!!!. The room was superb and the location was excellent, would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Also, the breakfast is minimal.The breakfast was in the room and was packaged croissants, sweets andbiscotti ... but it was perfectly fine. We weren't lead to believeotherwise so it was no problem for us. I found it strange when we arrived at the hotel, the person was waiting outside for us. He then led us in and up to our room. He could have maybe showed us some identification....although we did not ask him for any ID either.The hotel suffered a building wide power cut for approx 30mins one evening - not sure if this is a common occurrence!. Could not use credit card to pay for room even though it said on their web site they accepted credit cards. The staff said their credit card machines did not work, but after being in Italy for some time after, I realized that was probably just an excuse, because everywhere you go in Italy, they prefer cash.Just too small bathroom nothing else. The single room is a bit small.Would have been difficult to find had we not travelled by taxi from the airport. A little bit anonymous but that was in the nature of the type of place it was.

The location is exceptional as you are actually close to all the classic sights of Rome. The Colosseum and Fori Imperiali are no more than an easy five minute walk. Moreover the “Cavour” underground (subway) station is approximately two hundred meters far.
In the immediate vicinity it’s worth a moment to linger along the narrow lanes of the Suburra, the church of Santa Pudenziana and its Byzantine mosaic (this is the oldest church in Rome, it dates back to the third century A.D.; the tradition says that Saint Peter might have found shelter there during the Christian persecution), the church of Santa Prassede and obviously the magnificent and imposing Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

The “Suburra” – the previous name of this district located on the sloped of the Quirinale and Viminale hills spreading as far as Esquilino hill – was a suburban neighbourhood of ill-fame, but where also new freedmen and patricians built their houses, surrounded by taverns, brothels, prostitutes, thieves, traders and some respectable people. The heart of Rome was like this. During the Emperor Vespasian time the Colosseum was built down the eastern part of the city, while on the south you could admire the Arch of Titus and the Temple of Neptune on the west.
Today the district of Suburra is called “Rione Monti”, the first neighbourhood of the city, one of the few places where you can have a real, genuine breathing area.

-From Termini railway station:
enter "Via Cavour" (when you exit the station on your left/via giolitti side), go straight for 150-200 metres, turn right into Piazza dell'esquilino and left into "Via urbana";
-From Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci airport:
you can take the train inside the airport "Leonardo express" which arrives to termini station. From there it's walking distance: enter "Via Cavour" (when you exit the station on your left/via giolitti side), go straight for 150-200 meters, turn right into Piazza dell'esquilino and left into "Via Urbana".
-From Ciampino airport:
take the train FMA-Rome Ciampino and get off at termini - it goes along every 20 min. From 06.15am to 23.45pm - or take the special bus to termini station.
