The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The rooms are very large and modern and the breakfast is very nice. The b&b is about 15 mins by car into Florence or say 20 mins on the bus. There is a bus stop just outside of the accomodation. In addition we had a very nice meal at a restaraunt about 400 metres from the b&bB on the main road to Florence which was run by a family originally from Inverness.

our stay there. You never know quite what to expect even if you have
read the reviews before you go. We had no difficulty in finding the
hotel and the steps up to the third floor were not an issue for us
although I can see that it might be a problem for some. The location is
excellent although the area is quite busy but this was not a problem for
us. The room and facilities were very clean and the bed was very
comfortable.

Good dinner for the money you paid. one of the best beachs in this part of Elba, small but clean and quiet, there ara about 150 steps on the way to the sea, so it's may be a problem for some travellers. Hotel is in 15 min by bus from Portoferraio, so we could travell all over the island.

Great location, good staff it all made for a special stop. We booked for 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we changed our schedule so we could stay an extra day. Whilst San Gimignano is a tourist location and it is busy during the day but when the tourist head out the village becomes even more enjoyable.
