A damage deposit of EUR 100 is required on arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Information about the area

Palinuro is a picturesque fishing village lying at the foot of Cape Palinuro in the southern part of the Cilento coast in the Campania region. According to tradition, the name of the town came from Virgil’s Aeneid. The mythological figure of Palinurus, who was Aenea’s helmsman, fell into the sea and was killed by the barbaric local inhabitants.

Today, Palinuro is an important seaside resort where visitors can explore the colourful shops and enjoy genuine Mediterranean cuisine at the numerous farm-houses. The town offers a perfect combination of myth, history, civilization and nature for an unforgettable holiday.

The Cilento National Park offers a variety of different excursions to the enchanting medieval villages of Pisciotta, Camerota and San Severino and to the archaeological areas of Velia, Roccagloriosa and Paestum, with its Greek temples.

Travelling information

The nearest airport is Napoli Capodichino (NAP) - 180 km from the Residence.

By train:
- You can catch any train running along the stretch Napoli - Reggio Calabria (if coming from the North) or Reggio Calabria - Napoli (if coming from the South).
- Get off at Centola.
- From here you can take the free transfer service to the residence.

By car:
From the North:
- Take the A3 motorway, Salerno - Reggio Calabria.
- Exit at Battipaglia.
- Join the SS18 towards Agropoli/Vallo della Lucania/Futani.
- Exit at Poderia.
- Then, following the road signs to Palinuro, drive on the SR562, which runs along the river Mingardo.
- At the end of this road, on the right, at the Fiat Showroom, turn right into a small street. At the next crossing, turn right again and then left soon after.
- After 50 metres you will find the hotel car park and reception.

Coming from the South:

- Join the SS517.
- At Policastro Bussentino, turn right toward the SS18.
