The hotel is a destination in itself, with a huge pool and easy access to a lovely private beach. It is also a great value. Priced very moderately, yet the staff are in white jackets and ties and the facilities are very impressive. Paestum, the fabulous World Heritage site full of Greek temples, is about two miles away.

The Oleandri is great for those arriving by car. For train travelers, be aware that the Paestum "train station" is very remote and you will find neither cabs nor busses when you step off the train. And it is about 2.5 miles to the hotel, a rather long walk if you have baggage. So email the hotel staff to call a cab for you in advance of your arrival.

Great swimming pool for young children and lots of shade

No snack bar at the beach; no information/guest pack to tell you basic things like what time is breakfast, how to operate the air conditioning etc.

They charged us twice, once when checking out, we paid cash, and thenthey charged our credit card as well! I am not impressed!
