We stayed in Maison Borella for five nights. It was a very comfortable hotel, great facilities, friendly staff, nice location (right along the canal). The area seems pretty dead in the morning, but it starts to wake up in the late afternoon and evening. We stayed in the top floor, and our room faced the courtyard, so we had no noise issues, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from if we didn't want to eat in the hotel. It's a short walk to the metro station and you can make yo.
all reviews » The hotel is situated in a nice area. There are lots of restaurants close by for in the evening. Good atmosphere, both inside and on the street. They have helpful staff. The rooms are very good and the bathrooms extremely nice. Everything is modern, clean and in the grey area between design and luxurious. The breakfast terrace is very nice to sit on in the morning. Breakfast is good too but consists too much of cakes as opposed to important things like bread. They also took way too long to repl. An absolute gem. We found this hotel on bookings.com and it delivered in every aspect. Staff were immaculately presented, ably led by Luciano. He is the consummate professional. Spoke very good english, always helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel is located amongst a plethora of some of the best value for money restaurants in the area. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance of the metro t. This hotel was very comfortable and well serviced. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really very good - a selection of cakes, cereals, fresh fruit salad, eggs and cold meats and cheese.Even though it was in the busy canal area we had a courtyard room and we heard no street noise - just the chime of church bells! This hotel was very difficult to find if you're travelling in your own car. Also a lot of activity on the evenings due to the nightlife in this area of Milan. This didn't bother us and it tended to quieten down just after closing time. The internet connection in our room (2nd floor) was inconsistent. although staff is very nice, the service is very slow. the bar can provide only a few selection of cocktails and nothing else. But happend that some are not available.....not acceptable for that kind of hotel. Can't think of a single problem. Wi fi very slow. Breakfast could be a bit richer. Expensive minibar, amenities, slow wifi connection. There were absolutely no disappointing points to mention. We had a room facing the canal. The noise inside the room from the people in the bars outside were actually higher than outside. Good windows, but something wrong with the construction towards the wall. Very noisy night. Also, the room was so dark that we had to use the flashlight on the iPhone to find stuff in our suitcase. Good to be eco-friendly with the lighbulbs, but there is a limit between this and guest-friendly. Nothing at all. Room was a little small but not too small. a little far from the city. nothing. nothing really. Wifi could be better. The breakfast needs to be improved. It was never enaugh food for all the guests.
