The staff was very warm and kind. My first night, I came back to my room in the evening and it smelled like smoke. Likely because a neighbor was illicitly smoking. The manager felt bad about that and couldn't move my room that night but did so the next morning. He also upgraded my room as compensation. That was a very kind gesture, indeed. great neighborhood for dining shopping and nightlife, short tram ride (5 min) to tourist areas loft style room,(104) amenities, service and cleanliness consistent with other hotels in this price range, breakfast buffet is adequate and included in the price would recommend enjoyed our stay.
all reviews » The location of the hotel is very convenient. It is just near navigli and the tram passes in front of the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful although they did not speak english. The breakfast was also nice. Only cheese was missing from it. I liked this small family run hotel down a quiet side street - no noise at all. The room was very clean and a good size. Although the owners speak very little English they were friendly. By Milan standards it was very good value. Great bar nearby (Henry's). Good value for money. A cheap "old school" hotel, nothing fancy. Room is big enough and there's even some yogurt in the continental breakfast. Take tram #9 to the hotel, get off either on stop Col di Lana or P.za Ventiquattro Maggio. Hotel La Vignetta is in an interesting neighbourhood, near the canals and University. An easy walk to the Duomo and Galleria. Room was spacious and very comfortable. The managers were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located not far from the city center. It takes only about 10-15 min to reach Duomo di Milano. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The room wi-fi works fine. It's a really decent hotel no matter the fact that it's just a 1-star hotel. It's clean, air-comditioned, with free wi-fi available also in the rooms. Breakfast is also included. We were so nice surprised! This hotel should have at least 3 stars. Personal and nice big rooms and excellent location did our stay! We will book this hotel next time. The towels may be more cleanier. Quite a long walk to the nearest metro. nothing. The hotel breakfast is rather poor. They do not offer fresh fruits. But those who prefer coffee&croissant will be more than satisfied. The walls are so thin that it is easy to hear what is going on next door. There is no shower hose in the bathroom. Breakfast is quite poor, though it's ok for the hotel like that. No elevator otherwise everything great!. The website said the front desk was 24/7, but we had a super hard time getting anyone to help us. Once we could get someone at the front desk, they were perfectly nice and helpful, but the desk was hardly ever manned. Nobody speaks any english at all but it's a kind of funny. Bad internet, slow and sometimes not working. The AC was old and noisy. Difficult to park nearby. The breakfast was a bit basic, but everything was tasty. Location abit far from attraction. Staff at hotel spoke no English what so ever. Staff don't know english and breakfast was poor. There isn't any kind of entertaimen. Trams are a bit noisy early in the morning. Nothing. When I complained about that, I was answered "It has never worked". Nobody bothered to repair it. Breakfast went only until 9.30h, and if one came around nine, sometimes things like butter were already finished. All in all, the client-orientation was quite low. One of the receptionists was quite unfriendly. A very Basic room and Breakfast. The location did not have great appeal. No lift/elevator Very slippery shower base. HATED the Graffiti and cigarette butts - everywhere. Worse than any other Italian City visited!. Smell of cigarets from the next room. Room was very dark On Sunday, there were a lot of people at the same time and they runnoff spoons, knifes. You had to wait until dishwasher was done. It is not easy to locate. The staff cannot speak English but still very helpful. Very meager breakfast. Very expensive parking. No help from the staff. The (old) guy at reception (evening / night) was downright rude, speaking no english at all and talking about me and other guests with a colleague in Italian, he also tried to make some money by not paying me change when I bought a can of soda. This was also with his colleague present. I wont return to this hotel. The breakfast was terrible, I paid extra for breakfast, wish I hadn't bothered. The staff come into your room despite putting the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door. They pick the towels up off the floor and just fold them up and put them on the shelf as if they're are clean fresh towels. I got told off for leaving the window open despite the room being like a sauna!!!.
