  The location was directly on the lake and centrally located, with a quiet 20 minutes walk to Menaggio and a from there a short ferry trip to Varenna and Belagio and therefore right across the lakes. It had good access by the c10 bus from Como.The staff were great and breakfast was excellent. It was obvious they had acted on some previous criticism... what people say » s on 'letsbookhotel.com' in relation to the quality of accomodation which we found to be very good. - Lovely view, every room has a balcony or terrace facing the lake. Excellent buffet-style breakfasts. Very good shower. Comfortable beds. Nice garden with chairs and tables for lounging. Direct access to the lake. The hotel isn't right inside the town - it's at least a 15-minute walk, so you aren't popping in and out for supplies - but that's also how the lake access is possible, so it's not a bad compromise.

  Lovely old style comfortable hotel in a quiet location which is not stuffy or formal. Our lake-facing front bedroom was spacious, well furnished and comfortable, with plenty of wardrobe space.   We loved staying there! The appartement is spacious, has a small kitchen (including a coffee machine, fridge, dishes etc) and all rooms have lake view. It's true that the hotel is up on the hill and therefore maybe a little difficult to find at first and a like 20 min walk from the city, but otherwise it wouldn't have this amazing view of the lake... what people say » and the mountains surrounding it! Moreover, it's a very peaceful and quite area. The restaurant downstairs has good an inexpensive pizza. We didn't h - We stayed here for 3 nights. The view from the balcony was amazing. Witnessed a sunset so beautiful I could not capture it in photos. The apartment was very clean and it had everything we needed. It was a good sized apartment. Everything functioned good. It was also very peaceful and a very comfortable place to stay in. The host Alessio was also wonderful, pleasant and very accommodating.   The hostel is in an incredible location with rooms that look out over the spectacular lake como and the mountains in the background. The staff are wonderful and make you feel right at home as well as sharing any knowledge of the area that might help in your further travels in the area or beyond.   We stayed here for 5 mights and loved the location, right on the main square with its restaurants and markets and very close to the public transport facilities (2 min walk to the bus stop, 5-7 min walk from the ferries). Great base to discover the lake. Really enjoyed having breakfast on our balcony. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Michaela. Superb food in the restaurant directly below the rooms.Would definitely return. Top tip - Flew into Milan then used shuttle bus to Milan train station, then train to Varenna, then ferry across to Menaggio - sounds tricky but it isn't - and so much cheaper!!!
