We loved the fact that is was an older Villa, just outside of the city center. Very Charming with a wonderful selection of breakfast items. A bit worn around the edges, but with a lot of character and charm. Must have been off season, the pool was closed (which they said was because of all the rain they had there) and the restaurant was closed the evening we stayed. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Large warm pool in a big, lush garden setting. Option to eat outdoors at each meal which we did. The room was a good size, excellent bed and the bathroom was modern with a nice bath. The oublic areas, bar and lounges were inviting and the staff were vey attentive. Overall it was fantastic.

Our room was spacious and comfortable - the bathroom was amazing and the shower was the best we had in all of Italy. Our meal in the restaurant was very good and the (Tuscany) wine was excellent. The location was also convenient for our flight out of Pisa. We loved the place. The staff are friendly and very efficient and helpful. The place feels opulent without being stuffy. Eating out in the garden - gorgeous. The wall covering of our room was beautiful fabric. The bathroom was huge and full of fluffy towels. The pool in the garden was gorgeous. You can absolutely experience a lot in this hotel! A beautiful garden and big lobby(or I can say a rest area) with fantastic decoration. I will definitely recommend this hotel to young couples. If you want to spend more but not too much to please yourself, this hotel is the best option!. This was a delight, the house was wonderful with very high ceilings and interestingly furnished. Great location in the quiet countryside but just minutes from Lucca and easy access to Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence, Siena, etc. A characterful quirky property close to the charming town of Lucca. There is a far more impressive room behing the bar and next to the kitchen at the rear which would make a fine Dining Room. We would have been more inclined to take dinner at the hotel had this been used for that purpose. only downside (and not the hotels fault) was loud hotel residents in the garden area drinking into early hours beneath our window...still live and let live...they were having fun!. Nothing to say whatsoever. Our first room was noisy, small and even had a broken toilet seat. However the staff changed our room the next morning with no trouble and gave us a larger and much quieter room which made our stay very enjoyable. Other negative- having to pay for internet access as a couple and only one of us could be on and then we had to wait 10 minutes before logging on with another device. The internet was also weak. Leaving the Tuscan sun!. One of our two rooms had a bathroom with a small shower stall with an accordion door which was a bit awkward opening and closing (possibly a bit older than the other room's bathroom). Nothing. The bathroom was a bit dated, but everything worked well. Our biggest problem was finding the place. The map provided by letsbookhotel.com was not very good and the street signs were terrible. 10 euros per day for Internet. We are doing 15 hotels in 12 countries on this trip and after 7 hotels this is the only one to charge us Breakfast average and room depressing. It was difficult to find the hotel and the traffic conditions were not good. The shower was incredibly small and the shower head wouldn't adjust. Could do with some refurbishment and updating (ie bathroom). Dinner could have been a little better both service and food. But overall really good hotel. Fantastic value. would prefer coffee to be served at the table at b'fast. Our evening meal was a little disappointing for the cost. I thought it was too expensive for what it was. I was also surprised that the bellhop didn't insist on taking my bag from my shoulder. Nothing. We missed on the menu at the a la carte restaurant, veal steak and steak di manzo. should not have to pay fro wifi access - which was free everywhere else we stayed on this trip. On arrival (2pm) the kitchen had closed and the only offering was a cheese and ham toasted sandwich, which at 8 Euros, I had high expectations. It was comparable to airport food: Expensive dry and miserable, no garnish and hadn’t even been sliced! This really would be my only complaint however and I must say we were served a very satisfactory breakfast in the morning. Nothing. In my opinion, extra paying for internet, nowadays has to desapear. Having to leave. Breakfast/ restaurant decor spoilt hotel. The staff was kind but not as attentionate as we would have liked. Further away from Lucca train station than we realised. Taxis very expensive. nada. The evening meal were very poor value for money and of poor quality in comparison with many many meals I have experienced in Italy. modernised but it is old with conflicting art. Miss-match of decor in certain areas of hotel but you get over this after a day. Nothing. Rooms in desperate need of a facelift. The bathrooms were particulaly bad and out of date. Not enough staff. The waiting staff were very inefficient, and explained routine of breakfast to some and not others. The breakfast was mostly packaged and self service. Coffee was not brought to your table. Was not a 'special' experience. The hotel was beautiful architecturally but needed refurbishment. Personell poor and pool refreshmebt offer and prices mad... Ice cream for 8Eur???. -there was no drinking water in the room - a taxi into Lucca town was 20 a pop, if they had a shuttle bus from the hotel that would be convenient for guests who don't have a car - the pool was not open, even though its states on the website that it opens from the 20th of May - the music added an emptiness to the hotel - the air con didn't work - the TV switched itself on in the middle of the night - even though its a lovely old house, its not really the 4 star experience I would have expected.
