breakfast and friendly staff. I actually missed breakfast, however during the check out process I was yawning and the receptionist told me that I could still get a cup of coffee downstairs, some fruit, and cereal. I and my husband went down to the breakfast room, where we were able to have several cups of expresso, fruit, and cereal. I was fueled for the whole day!!!! It was awesome!!. Everything was simply great. The staff was very helpful and the room large and perfectly clean. Perfect location, just outside the walls, to visit the city centre.all reviews »

The staff were very nice but there is not always someone on reception . When we arrived we we re lucky that the cleaning lady was there to let us in otherwise we would have had to wait. The breakfast was marvelous, with the espresso-cappuccino machine. Theac did not work too well though. We loved the closeness to Portal Elisa,so we could rest when we wanted. The owner GianMarco was wonderfullyhospitable. Would recommend to friends.I arrived in the evening, and the key and note was left on the door for me. That was very kind. Staff was very kind. The only thing I didn't see was internet, but they might have it and I just missed it. I wasn't looking to o online and didn't ask, so...Well placed, just outside the walls of Lucca. Also lots of hard surfaces so all the noises of teh hotel tend to ricochet through the hotel - in our case a baby next door. a small fridge would have been a bonus as the weather was very hot and a cold drink on that balcony would have topped the day.it was situated near a very busy road. Noise from traffic was constant. We were travelling with two young children. Two single beds would have been more useful than the double bed in the second bedroom.Noisy front door/hallway. Hid the large towels in the wardrobe - we reckon because it saved them on the laundry. You could easily have gone the night without seeing them!. Improve the breakfast. rather further from the rail station than expected. early morning traffic noise from vehicles using what should have been a quiet road as a short cut.Decor a bit avant garde - our room very small however we got a suite w/ balcony, i.e. two small rooms. Bold colors, poor (but artsy) lighting. Some maintenance problems. Staff very helpful though. Breakfast pleasant and adequate. no sitting room or lounge area. seemed to be a short stay hotel , with most guests only staying 1 or 2 nights,. The windows of the hotel room were not double-paned, and even closed did not keep out traffic noise from the nearby busy road.The TV in the room didn't not work - very fuzzy reception and only one channel. I don't think a TV is essential but if it is there, then it should work. Very thin walls and door. Cold floor. A bit difficult to find the bandb in the late evening.The directions we received to get from the station to the hotel were wrong, so it's a good job we can read maps!. Only one of the rooms had air conditioning and although there was a fan in the other room it was noisy.Yes, we got locked out of the hotel on our return at 9.30 pm. We rang the number on the door who then explained to us to use the key for the side door. When we arrived was very cold in the room and we had to wait a lot to get a little confortable.
The room was extremely noisy in the morning, because of the reception and the other people of the hotel, impossible to sleep after 8h30.far from center of the town; the villa is next to a major intersection, is very, very noisy. There is no insulation at all even with windows closed. We also heard people upstairs walking in high heels, laughing around 3am in the morning.
