We were in the self catering apartment which was stunning and huge.It was a mix of antique furniture and modern fittings ( ikea kitchen).The breakfast was very good with a huge selection of food.Staff very helpful despite the lady speaking only Italian .We were able to leave our cases and pick them up later on the day of our departure.Very quirky establishment , would thoroughly recommend.
all reviews » The staff was very friendly, though the day we checked in, there was an older lady in reception, that was able to give us instructions only in italian (but we understood each other quite well). Breakfast starts at 8:30, which was a little bit late for us, but if u want, for breakfast, they can bring you some food the day before to your room. We were given our own private apartment with a view of the garden. There was a full kitchen and charming,artistic decor with everything you could possibly need. The location was close to one of the entrances to Lucca so it was convenient-we only had to pull our suitcases for a block yet we were walking distance to everything. Location was superb - in the ancient walled city, and walking distance to sights. Staff were so friendly and quirky - we loved them! The place itself is a beautifully authentic italian apartment - decor was fantastic. Rooms were super comfy with modern bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent. wow what a great place! excellent location, close and comfortable parking, beautiful big room. and Elena is super nice and breakfast is delicious! also in the room was a kitchen with all the necessary facilities and tea and coffee. Good location in Lucca. We stayed in a double room in an apartment in a next door annex. Very large bedroom and good/quirky bathroom. Breakfast was in the main hotel and was good. Lucca was a lovely old town and the ho(s)tel's location is right in the heart, perfect. breakfast ok. If you wanted to do all your own cooking in the apt there is a bit of a shortage of pots - no frying pan and no small pot to boil stuff in.However we managed . Due to the lack of air conditioning, it was necessary to keep the windows open at night where mosquitos could come in(no screens) and bother us at night. the bathroom were private but outside of the room so we had to pass through the kitchen which was for another family as well. Towels a bit small. Location of parking and access to it not made clear on arrival but that was probably a language problem. As always Italian drains in bathrooms are a problem in older properties! Slightly noisy from property above our room Working out how to transport luggage in Lucca depends on location of B and B/hotel and can sometimes be difficult. n/a. Breakfast rather moderate. When I checked-in lady explain me etherything in Italian but I don't speak it. Rather odd breakfast arrangement, asked for twin beds, (which your site said were available), but had to email the hotel after noticing they don't advertise any. They don't have any twin rooms and we got a double and a camp bed!. Bed linens and towels were very very old, difficult to be sure that they are clean. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. bathroom facilities for my room, were completely separate and meant going out into the lobby to use.
