Nice hotel, close to the old part of the city, the hotel has bikes for rent, so you can go to the old part of the city without any problems! We enjoyed the little spa as well. Free parking space behind the hotel. Very nice hotel and room. Easy check-in, and friendly staff. Can rent a bike, which is absolutely necessary if you plan to visit the interior of the city which is forbidden to vehicles.

We used car to get into Lucca and found there was adequate free parking outside the Porta Elisa.Unfortunately the Hotel is situated right next to the motorway so it is very noisey. I found the constant noise of the motorway a problem. If you are a buisness man on a one night stay AOK...But not suitable for a family stay. Difficult to find from anywhere but the autostrada. Not a particularly nice location, very near mainroads but no noice. Staff struggled a little at breakfast - slow service and did not ensure there was any bread at all! But will not one slow employee imapct good impression. Too near the motorway, and in rather run-down area.The bed wasn´t the best one. Music played too loud in the Restaurant. Is this noise music?. Difficulty in getting transportation to old town. at night bad light at hotel sign ( I looked for a hotel for a long time- nearby hotel Napoleon has great sign!); hotel could have at least one bar, where customers could relax during some drink after a long trip. More clearly labelled signs from the motorway would be appreciated. The breakfast buffet needs to be improved. The tables were not clearedand guests had to do it themselves. Layout not good. Some items in a acorner causing a bottleneck. Fruit juice was very poor quality. No plugfor the wash basin.the breakfast selection was extremely poor. Possibly the worst I have had in the last 8 years. We found that breakfast items were not replaced meaning a distinct lack of choice. The coffee machine did not work for the full 4 days that we were there.no charm. very hard to find (at least for us). it is outside the city walls. -Further from the city centre than expected; the room vas really noisy due to the speedway just a few meters away; the bed and the pillows were too hard.poor aircondition, view. the room,however beautiful,was small and had only 1 chair,very unusual for two persons,peg in the shower only for basketball players!. We tried to book for another 2 nights for two weeks later but were put off by the difference in the price, as we were asked almost 30 euros more per night. The position of hotel was further from town centre than anticipated.Staff during breakfast not too helpful. I am vegetarian, but there was some bacon and sausage which fell into the scrambled egg from the trays next to the egg by people using the same spoon. I asked if they could make me some scrambled eggs separately. It was refused. Air conditioner was periodically very noisy and had to be switched off. The drainage in the bathroom didn't work well which was problematic.We had requested a cot, but when we arrived the receptionist said they were aware of this but only had one cot which was already in use! They did eventually find us a tatty old one, but having arrived late we could have done without the hassle. Very poor breakfast and housekeeping was not good.Its position is poor next to a Mcdonalds and derlict buildings. Bar and restaurant non existant. thee room was too hot and being situated on a motorway intersection, too noisy to have window open. air -con not available after october.
