Hotels near Rucellai Palace

The hotel is like a european version of a mini W hotel.. very modern with great bathrooms relative to typical Italian lodgings. The shower/bath/water pressure = fantastic. Breakfast buffet = lovely andpretty typical for an Italian hotel. The waitstaff were exceptionally nice. The location=very convenient... 3 blocks from Piazza San Marco and a 10 min walk to il Duomo.. The hotel is only a 15/20 min walk from the town centre but if you wantto you can take the bus which runs pretty often. The staff are politeand very helpfull and you get a fantastic sellection of food forbreakfast. The San Gallo Pallace was recomended to us by a friend and wewould certainly recomend it to others wanting to stay in Florence. - Alan

Everything about this hotel was excellent - it is both close to the train station and the city centre, with a range of restaurants nearby ( helpful when you arrive at 22.00 !). Staff were polite and helpful, and the quality of the room was superb - for example you get a little card each evening telling you the weather forcast, together with a couple of sweets ! highly recommended - John

The hotel is incredibly friendly and efficient. The location is not prime, but still, it is very very good. The room was lovely, the ambience and general public, very very good. My husband and I really enjoyed every minute there. - Celia

Everything. I would advise anyone staying in Florence to stay at Hotel Santa Maria Novella. It was within walking distance to the train station. A beautiful hotel. The best breakfast we had in Italy by far. They upgraded our room to the penthouse suite with a terrace overlooking Florence. A circular window over the bed was positioned so the Duomo was in view in the window. Would stay again. - Joann

Hotel staff were extremely helpful - particularly getting a taxi from the station in a downpour of biblical proportions. Rooms were lovely, big bathrooms, great breakfast etc - Anonymous

Whilst we didnt use the pool the scenery and decor overall standard was fantastic and very convenient as a base to explore Florence. Would definitely recommend for other persons. - Andrew
