The location is incredible. Right outside my window, so close I almost felt I could touch it, was the fantastically beautiful Il Duomo de Firenze (cathedral), Florence's most popular sight to see. You immediately feel like it's *your* piazza since you "live" there, and all the other people milling around are just tourists. The bells in the morning were magical. I should add that the piazza is noisy until late at night but the windows are excellent modern double- glazed ones, and when I shut the.
all reviews » Unbelievable location right in front if the Duomo - was blown away by the view from my window (sometimes the hotel add isn't quite real)!given the location I thin this is a budget friendly option - I wanted the ability to enjoy views rather than have a mega room. I had solo room with single bed which was fine (all I did was sleep there) and central to everything. Kelly was really helpful for recommendations re markets (Mercato Centrale is a must) and restaurants (ZaZa's is terrific) and things . Close to the Duomo. Able to book Academia and Uffizi reservations for us, and give advice on other things to see. Had a bookshelf with Rick Steve's travel books which we used during our stay. Double glazing in windows made room very quiet, even when bells were ringing. Airconditioning was a real bonus in our heatwave holiday. Elevator fitted us plus our luggage with no problems. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Stored our luggage from 8am til room available, after we had ar. The location was excellent - easy walk from the train station (even with luggage); right across from the Duomo; near to many main sights and good shopping. Kelly and her husband are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast served in your room - simple but very good especially the freshly baked muffins. There is an elevator so you don't have to haul your luggage up 3 very long flights of stairs. Wi-fi worked well. Kelly was very helpful and the location was fantastic. The room was simple but had everything I needed including a fan (Italy has laws on when air-conditioning can be run and in April it wasn't allowed so the fan was brilliant). The property also now has a lift installed so getting to the 3rd floor wasn't a problem. Would definately stay here again. The view is super beautiful-open the window Duomo is right there. The room is clean and smell well. The staff is helpful and warm-hearted to help with the train schedule information and recommendation of local nice resterants. Highly recommend. All the sites are in walking distance and you can catch the hop on hop off bus easy. The room was big and spacious the bathroom was a little small but the shower worked well. Some other people who arrived as I was leaving were disappointed they didn't get a room with a view. And I understand some of the rooms are higher up than the office on the third floor, which is where mine was and which you could reach by elevator--so I could imagine some people used to not having to carry their bags up the stairs not liking that. But come on! You're right outside Il Duomo so suck it up. Previous reviews have discussed the small showers and I see their point they are tricky, but once you have your groove your fine. I stayed for 9 nights which was a perfect length to see everything but really would have appreciated a mini fridge to he able to buy fruit / priduce at markets to help reduce food costs ( maybe as an extension it could be offered??). We knew what we would be having for breakfast when we booked, but would have appreciated something moist like stewed fruit or yoghurt. We knew that there was no fridge, and in a heat wave missed it. In the winter, take slippers - the tile floors are not surprisingly cold. The shower is quite small and doesn't have a screen (only a shower curtain) so water goes all over the floor. Piazza could be quite noisy, so if you need quiet room this may not be the one for you. But other then that - it's a great place to stay!. Wished the wifi worked faster but it seemed to work well. Not knowing we needed to go to third floor to check in. We struggled with the doorlock everytime we in/out the hotel and the room. Breakfast was good enough, but wasnt good as expected.
