What people say
This is right in front of the cathedral/ museum across the railway
station. Free WiFi is included even if it was not mentioned on our
booking. The lady at the reception did not speak or understand English
well, but was very helpful. She carried our luggage up the flight of
stairs and was always cheerful. Breakfast costs 1.99 euros and is a
couple of cookies, a little cake and a hot/ cold drink. At a walk-
able distance to the main piazzas and the Duomo. all reviews »
We got the four person room, which was very affordable. The location was
good and the room was decent. The towel I rented for 2 euros looked like
a blanket so I wasn't happy, but it actually worked really well.
-The price (we got it at 39 Euro on booking) was very good. -The
personnel was very helpful and nice. -Room was comfortable.
Location
Comfort in the room
Friendly personnel
Value for money
Parking 200 meters nearby.
We were there for the culture. Galleries, churches sights.
Wonderfu.l.
Great location, staff were friendly and helpful.
Location, price, comfort.
The location was great, once we found it. It was right in the mix of
great restaurants, gelsto shops, taxi stands, etc. We were grateful
they offered a lift because there are way too many steps to climb if
you're lugging a lot. We stayed in a 3 bed room and the shower and
sink were in the room, which was a nice convenience. Also, it is
really close to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station, so you
can walk there, no problem , with luggage. Overall, good option if
cost is top priority.
Location - 5 minutes to train station - probably ok hotel for large
groups of students, our room had a queen and 2 single beds. Staff
was helpful.
location is very nice, close to central rail station and most of the attractions are near by just by walk.
Location is excellent. It was also reasonably clean for the level of room you can expect.
good price with a very central location.
Location close to the station.
Friendly enough staff, location's alright. Not too expensive. Shower
was bountiful in hot water and powerful. Bed was alright.
The location is 7minutes walk to train station..
Restaurant and pharmacy are nearby . It's convenient.
Excellent location, in historic city centre and near railway station.
Location to station, the shower was clean, staff very nice.
just the location.
Can be a bit difficult to find, very shabby street and entrance, tiny
lift up to the 2nd floor, people on the 3rd floor have to take the
stairs. Windows with mosquito net, stuffy inside the rooms, noisy street
all throughout the day and night.
Check to make sure there is toilet paper before you go in the common
bathrooms, because they only put in a few at a time so they ran out a
lot. You just have to ask for more, but don't get stranded!.
-At full price, it would be too expensive. -The shower and the toilet
are in the same space, no division between (flip-flops = must have).
Towels, shampoo, wi-fi and breakfast for extra charge.
The noise from the street at night was annoying but worth it for central location.
Signage was not good at all, especially if you dont speak Italian.
I think the neon sign read 'Pensione Ottaviani'. Also, wifi
was down which was a bummer, but nearby shops offered free wifi to
patrons. So not completely off the grid if you rely on wifi for
free callslo/texts, etc. Staff was kinda rude, but the city
made up for it.
The shower was not cleaned from the night before. No tv. They charged €2
per bag to store our bags after check out. Castello Rosa or Casa Billi
much better for same price.
This is quite a bit expensive for what they give you. Bathroom cabins are fixed in the rooms which are really very small. You can't even put soap on your body easily.
The bathroom is shared and the room is very "cheap". But I suppose the price was also very cheap compared to the location very close to Palazzo della Signoria.
shower is part of the room while the other person can see you while you are using the shower.
its not a complete private bathroom.
elevator is not convenient.
When asking for a towel the receptionist said that his shift was over,
it's not his problem, there's no one in until the morning an
then made 'wash my hands of it' gesture.
You can't properly open the window as they've erected a grill over it which won't move.
Down the street is very noisy we can't sleep at night even we closed the window!
The bathroom is too small,I believe fat people can't fit in .
They charge €2 for each towel with small packets of soap.
VERY basic facilities, lumpy bed, lots of noise from outside as well as inside, extra charge for wifi.
The room was nothing like the pictures on the website. Our twin room was
actually a single room with a fold up bed, the desk had been removed and
placed into the hall in order to fit in the bed. Thus there was actually
no room to walk or put a suitcase. Wifi only worked in the hall. Towels
and toiletries not provided as stated. It was very noisy from street,
but hot and had to have window open, also mosquitos a problem. We
checked out early as not what we paid for.
poor wifi.
Rooms noisy with only one bathroom on our floor so we were competing with several other people for one bathroom.
