Has a small elevator which helps to transport luggage (we were on 4th floor). Breakfast vouchers for food from cafe next door which gave a fruit drink, coffee, croissant and sandwich. It is not to far to walk from the train station and is just across the Duomo. The staff was helpful and provided useful information and recommendations for restaurants. The location could not have been more perfect for my first trip to Florence. I stayed at another hotel on the other side of the Arno river. Everything is pretty close to the city center, but nothing beats walking outside and seeing the famed Duomo. There were previously complaints about breakfast being in another location, but I loved feeling like part of the Florentine lifestyle, plus there was a nice variety of sandwiches and sweets. Our shower was very small indeed but, our travelling partners did had a good shower and our toilet seat was a bit loose. But these are minor points and did not detract from the quality of the accomodation. The breakfast is served in a nearby cafe. The staff, although helpful and friendly, does not speak english therefore the communication is difficult. The environment has nothing to do with the Stanze del Duomo and the selection is limited. Because of the location it was noisy at times. This didn't bother us but could be annoying for others. Breakfast in the cafe round the corner was very basic. It was fine but we only had it the first day then decided to get our own. There was nothing we did not like about the B&B Le Stanze. No wifi in the room. Breakfast was bad. We had to go to a bar round the corner and they only gave you a very small sandwich and a pastry. No water no fruit or a juice. Very limited. It was a bit complicated to get in, but this also made us feel safe in the middle of a busy city. We had a little trouble with our TV getting a menu of programs, but a very small issue. There are some problems with one of the shower room. Parking was difficult, but if you stop near the hotel they can call the parking garage to come and get your car (25 EUR/day); some mold on the ceiling in the room and lower end toiletries, but neither was a big issue. We were expecting a room with antique furnishings and four poster bed. We had a problem with the plumping in the bathroom, but the stuff solved it as soon as possible. Some humidity in the walls is a downside, but I guess this is common in old Italian buidlings. There wasn't really a problem, but it wasn't a nice thing to see. A few small things, like the lift, but all part of European travel for Americans. Nothing we saw made us question our decision to stay here. No view and 2nd bathroom was small but the price and comfort made up for it. Breakfast in the hotel would be nice, however there was a well stocked tea n croissant tray. The cafe where breakfast was supplied was nice with friendly staff. Slightly pricey (but worth it). the internet connection was a bit erratic. Only complaint!. Access to room area was annoying as it required an electiric entry. Little noisey each time someone came in during the late hours. Room a bit small for 3 people. The wireless signal was not very strong in our room. It would have been a nice room to relax in, but no view at all. Two windows but they looked onto a wall. Regardless, nice, functional room. One bathroom. Can not find anything... Air conditioning was supposedly working but very weak so the room was super hot!.
