The staff was wonderful. We arrived early after departing from a cruise & they made us comfortable; secured the luggage; provided coffee & tea; and provided the suite early, once it was ready--by 11:15am. The lovely assistant insisted upon carrying my & my husband's luggage upstairs; showed me all the features of the suite she had just scrubbed; and chatted as best we could with 2 very different languages. The suites (we could see several) were well furnished; thoroughly cleaned; ha.
all reviews » The hotel is nicely located in the "centre" of Fiumicino village, which in turn is located 3km close to the airport, thus it is comfortable for short stays or early flights. The marina is within walking distance (3 minutes) with very good options for dining. Fish is excellent in the area. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and comfortable. IT seems recently opened or renovated. It is a family business and owners are very helpful with any information you may need. They will arrange the taxi fo. Small hotel located in the fishing village of Fumicino, Italy. Very clean, reasonably priced, friendly staff. 15 minutes from fco (Leonardo Da Vinci) airport. Has Free WiFi. Restaurant in Hotel (very good food) Many good restaurants and street vendors located nearby, plus Marina and about a 15 minute walk to the Mediterranean and beach areas. Had read about the outstanding seafood restaurant located here, and decided to book both for our last night in Italy… mostly because of its proximity to fco (20 euro taxi/10 min ride). Staff was warm & very gracious. Let them know when your flight departs, and they will have a taxi waiting for you at the door in the morning about 3 hours ahead of time. One of the other wonderful aspects to the hotel was the beautiful rooms - and the extra large bathtub complete with bubble bath which again adds to the romance factor. This may change during the peak summer season. The locals were sort of not friendly, and we stuck out from the regular townies as American tourist. I enjoyed being with the regular villagers (being Italian American) but my wife got a little bit of a bad vibe from them. If your looking for nightlife, forget it. This is not party-central. Air conditionining in room was hard to adjust, so ask for instruction. Though the hotel is right on the water, the beach area is incomprehensibly trashed with refuse, etc....interesting to see the Tevere, though and an ok walk to the entrance of the river. Exterior appearance and no shower head hook to take a proper shower. The only thing we didn't like was the blue lighting in the hallway. Nil. Not a lot of English spoken by the desk staff. Nothing. The shower stall was a bit small. Front room at street level was a little on the noisy side, cars and people on the sidewalk, but we were exhausted and had no trouble sleeping through it. TV station only had Italian channels :o/. Nothing to do with the hotel, but cabbies at the airport want fares to Rome, not the short run to this hotel. One quoted "40 euros flat rate." Finally got one for 17 euros. Hotel room was kinda small, with a small shower. The location is a bit far from the airport. We had to take a shuttle for 10 min. Our room was beside a busy street and was a bit noisy at night. The breakfast service was not as good as we have known in other cities, and the breakfast itself very basic. Noisy. Although I have specifically requested internet access, it wasn't accessible from my room and this has been an issue for me. Would have preferred a stand-up shower. - wifi spot is only next to reception - is super close to the airport, so definitely suits for those who are travelling; but there is not so much nice around the hotel. No air conditioning which made sleeping very difficult. Nothing. Management failed to tell us that at 12:01 the next morning all of Europe went off of Daylight Savings time. This was one week prior to the us going back to Standard time. As a result, we were waiting for a 3:30 am taxi and it was only 2:30 am. Much frustration and worry could have been avoided with a sign in the premises or a comment from the desk clerk about the time change. none. tiny shower. Noisy being so close to the airport and harbour. Nothing. Long stairway to rooms. Luggage was to heavy to carry up so we had a room on the first floor. Note: Take a real cab only not unmarked black suv. From the Roma train station the cab is 15 euro. We paid 55 euro for the same ride. No lift. All was interesting.
