This hotel is a real family enterprise, with staff who seem to do their utmost to help you, even extending to walking you down a street to show you where a restaurant is, or letting you hire a relative's car! The hotel has a traditional feel, is comfortable and good value. The breakfast was very nice and the views from the windows are beautiful. all reviews » What a location! All the way up into the medieval part of Castiglione. Fun to drive the narrow streets. Superb views on Etna and the old town from the room and from the 4th floor dining room. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Luckily Mr. Silvio had turned on the heating before we arrived as it was still cold mid February. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice between local products and delicious fresh juice. Apart from the daily morning advice one day we got our own priva. Wow! If there is a room in Europe, let alone Sicily, with a better view from the terrace than 314, I've yet to find it! To your left the rooftops of the old town, ahead an outlook over a beautiful valley, and to the right Mount Etna which started a gentle eruption into a bright blue sky on the last morning of our stay. Unforgettable! This, and extremely helpful owners and staff, made this a superb place to stay in this north-eastern part of Sicily. And a great little restaurant in an alleyway j. Fantastic location in an Interesting beautiful town. After a warm welcome by Carlos we were shown our rooms. They had the most fantastic views over the town and Etna. Our two rooms also had a "courtyard " of our own. Big rooms, very well equipped. Breakfast buffet was served in a grand dining hall with a Knight in armour watching over you. You find good restaurants 2-3 minutes from the hotel. Carlos recommended and booked a table for us, and that was good as it was Friday night and the restau. The hotel might seem a bit weird due to its interior, but we had a good night there. The room was clean and spatious, there was no noise, and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast is good: it offers a variety of typical continental breakfast articles: viennoiserie, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, hot drinks,... Comfortable hotel in the medieval part of town and a view of Etna from the bedroom window.Fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful - even led us by scooter to the nearest petrol station. Great location for exploring Etna. my room had a great view of mount Etna, and was spacious and clean. Lovely man called Carlo did his best to look after us. Take your breakfast out on the roof terace and enjoy the amazing best views in the town. The medieval town is perched on the hill. Nice town. Very peaceful with amazing views of Mount Etna. My room overlooked the front entrance so it was a bit noisy at times, but the hotel was full and i was a solo traveller in a single room, so I suspect that this room may not often be in use. First impressions are of a fairly plain looking hotel squeezed in among the buildings in the highest part of the old town. But don't be put off. But maybe not all the rooms are as perfect as ours was!. We arrived on a sunday afternoon, so it seemed very dead. Super quiet. We got a older room so not like the pictures on letsbookhotel.com. Difficult to find and very cold in hotel. -.
