Very helpful and friendly staff. The location is great, as it's in a beautiful forest away from the crazy tourist area of Florence. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is only 20min outside Florence by train and a return ticket is only 3 euros. The hotel is a great for relaxing with beautiful surroundings and very close to Florence. Berautifull mountain area, real nature and forest. Satelite TV, good breakfast and dinner. Very clean hotel in good condition.

We have got excellent suggestions for visiting Tuscany. Looking forward to come again. Location is very beautiful, rooms, restaurant and the service.The location! Beautiful!!!. Very clean room, calm atmosphere, lots of space for sitting and reading etc.The night staff was very nice (and spoke english). Although the restaurant was already closed when we arrived, they opened it and served us a good dinner (although very expensive). friendly and helpful stuff, good breafast, nice room and interior. excellent air, quiet, good service, normal english at reception. Hotel is situated high in the mountains and it is a long way to get there.The breakfast was very disappointing and the location is more remote that the website suggests. In the morning there was no hot water and had to wait 2h30 until the problem was solved without any other alternatives presented by the recepcionist whom only spoke italian. I only understood that it would take 30 min to solve the problem (it took 2h30). The room rate was 42€ instead of the 39€ mentioned during the reservation.not easy to find in the dark. They should tell the truth about the distance from Forence, it is more than 50 km and it takes more than one hour to get to Florence. I called right before we get there and they said it is 27 km! The bathroom has heating, the rest of the room not, it was too cold.There were no window shades, so the sun woke us up in the morning. The room didn't have a plug to put the computer in!. Breakfast was rather poor. This hotel was really not good. The room was outdated, their were a lotof insects(+ remains) in the room, food in the restaurant was average atbest, breakfast was poor. The worst thing was that we had a lot of noisenuisance: the whole hotel had to enjoy an outdated keyboard playerplaying very loud and until 12:30 (we'll I had to ask management to stopthis bother, otherwise maybe much later).

Travelling information

Amerigo Vespucci Airport is a 15- to 20-minute journey into the centre by taxi or the SITA/ATAF bus shuttle operating between the airport and the central railway station of Santa Maria Novella. Just in front of the central railway station on the right side you will find SITA busses to Vallombrosa (it will take 1/2 hour to arrive just in front of the Hotel).
