The hotel is on the third floor of an older building with no elevator. However, the staff will help you with taking the luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel is situated in a little seedy area near the fish market. However, once you walk pass these 1-2 blocks, you are at the Elephant fountain and the Duomo so the location to the sights is great. There are lots of good seafood restaurants nearby.

We really liked our stay in B&B Macalle. Everything was very clean, the towels smelled really nice and our room and bathroom were very spacious. Every morning Mario made us a great cappuchino. The city is at walking distance. And Mario gave us a great suggestion for a fish restaurant for dinner. We recommend this place to everyone! -

Large and luxury apartment of 80 sqm fully equipped with dishwasher, large fridge and freezer. Air conditioning very good, staff responsible for very sweet and friendly. The hotel´s motto very good and surprisingly occasionally. A bit expensive but great value for money. Plenty of parking and a view of part of the volcano top Etna and not far from the city Catania. Approximately 500 m to the beach but only rocks and no sand beach.

This was our first trip to Sicily. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owners. Their daughter spoke English and helped to translate. Our apartment was clean and had a very charming, rustic, and authentic feel. The property and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Our children, ages 4 and 10, can't wait to go back! -

What we read in other comments was definitely true. The appartement was excellent and very clean and the hosts Maurizio and Cettina very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really great, 5 jellies, fresh bread and Mortadella/prosciutto juices and Sicilian icecream (Granita)! Nicolosi is a cosy village to stay. Close to Etna and Catania.
