  The welcome we received on arrival to the Doge was warm and friendly. We were too early to check in to our room but the owner kindly stored our bags while we went into Venice and could not have been more helpful. He drew us an easy to follow map on how to get to the bus stop, which is a gentle 15 minute stroll away.   Well all I can say is the lovely host Sabrina and her family gave us a great place to stay in Mestre . Her welcome to us was so warm and friendly I felt like I had known her for years . She went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed . Including giving us the loan of free bike hire from her .
