Highly recommend it! - We stopped two nights at the Dunloe View Hostel during our trip through Kerry. John welcomed us warmly and gave us many tips for visiting the area. The atmosphere of the hostel was cozy. The big table in the dining room encourages discussions between the guests which is appreciable. The kitchen was well equipped and the fresh eggs were tasty. John is always doing his best to help (advices, bus schedules…) and we really appreciated that.

We arrived much later than we thought and the manager was very accommodating and kind. It being February, we had the place to ourselves, so it was like having a large house with well-stocked kitchen, cosy tv room and dining room. Family room was very spacious with bunkbeds for the kids. It was great to be able to make an evening meal and breakfast... what people say » , so you weren't always going to restaurants. All of this for 40 euro a night for four people! The area is beautiful and remote. Make sure to sea Glan - We stayed In a very nice, clean, comfortable, simple private double en suite room. The kitchen was large, clean, well-equipped with ample refrigerator space, dining area and common area with TV and WiFi. The manager was very friendly and helpful. It is any easy stroll to the center of Portmagee village that has a few restaurant/pubs grocery, cafe and boats to the Skelligs. Ample parking as well. A good half-way point on the ring of Kerry.
