The receptionist Ian was particularly helpful and had good advice as to where to visit during our short trip. The breakfast was good too - nothing fancy but you could help yourself to whatever you wanted. Kitchen and lounge facilities looked good although didn't use them much. The location was ideal as not far from O'Connell Street and within walking distance of Temple Bar although quieter than being right in the centre. Shop nearby to get snacks and drinks. All round enjoyable experience - Anonymous

Friendliness of the staff. Good clean rooms for a reasonable price. And the proximently of the place to downtown. I esp. liked the bus picking us up for the airport in the morning. You ought to leave word with airport info about that. - Anonymous

The service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic. Particularly of Catherine, the owner. She has to be one of the most welcoming people we've met. She put a lot of effort into meeting our specific needs and conversation with her was great as well. You probably won't find much better service and care around. It is excellently located just north of the city so it is a 15 minute walk from the buzz of the night life, but located in quiet area of town. - Anonymous

When I arrived at the Marian Guest House, I felt like I was visiting my "new family ". The atmosphere it's awesome, Catherine and Brian will host you like a member of their family, and you'll have everything you need to have. They are special and their breakfast it's one of the best I've ever tried in my life! Excellent position from the city centre, very well connected to the airport. If you want to feel like home and be a new member of this wonderful Irish family, you shouldn't loose this occ - Anonymous

I simply cannot recommend this hotel enough! It was excellent value for money. Ignore the negative reviews. The room was spacious and most importantly clean! Close enough to centre to be able to walk in. The area felt safe to walk in. The breakfast was splendid! Friendly waiting staff, good freshly prepared food. If you're looking for cheap, decent accommdation centrally located, book this!!!! - Anonymous

The hotel was clae and excelled on all of the above points. Myself and my daughter had dinner in the bar and the food was lovely. The level of English for one of the staff members was quite poor but another staff memeber came to the rescue. The home made chips were lovely as was the pizza. Breakfast was varied and very nice, I wish I had been up earlier to enjoy it more but we had a hospital appointment to get to. The hotel was in an excellant position for croke park as well as the shopping centre minuets walk. the room was spacious and clean a safe in use at know extra cost would recommend. will use again staff were very helpful an extra star for the staff. - Georgina

Staff was very friendly. Prior to my arrival I emailed the front desk about transportation from the airport -- they emailed me back immediately with the bus to take, where it drops me off, and how to get to the hotel from there. Upon checkout, I was able to leave my bags at the front desk and they provided me with a taxi to the bus station. Rooms were clean, good water pressure in the showers, breakfast was great, about 20 minute walk to temple bar area. Even better, the hop on-hop off bus - Anonymous

The hotel is very comfortable and spotlessly clean and the staff are polite. The bathroom was a bit small but that wasn't really a problem, the shower was lovely and hot and clean towels were provided each day. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast was very filling. Eggs cooked just the way I like them!! Very tasty sausage and bacon. - Ava

The guesthouse was 24 hours, somebody stayed up all night to let guests in. We went to an Eminem concert and returned at 2am with no problems what so ever. We need to book a taxi for 7am the same morning and the gentleman that let us in insisted he would sort that out for us so we could go to bed. Also the plug points didn't work at all in our room on arrival, when we asked at reception they came straight to look at the problem without hesitation and fix it within a few minutes.
