As we were travelling on motorcycles we were allowed to park the bikes in a secure area. The staff were all very helpfull and friendly. Bedrooms were spacious,very clean, and warm. We ate in the bar area and although less choice than if we had used the main restaurant it was adequate for our needs and we really enjoyed the food which came hot and in generous portions. We had a lovely 2 night stay in the Carrickdale, just as a wee break away. Everything from the rooms to the staff to the food was lovely. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of people about. The spa is an added bonus and added a nice touch to our stay. Had never been to this hotel before so didnt know what to expect but we were very happy with everything.
all reviews » The staff both at reception and the bar were very friendly and helpful. The room was much bigger than expected with a great view. The Leisure centre was free and towels were provided (sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and pool all great. Meal in the bar was good as well. I wished I could have had a longer stay. We really enjoyed our one night stay in this Hotel, we ate in the bar and I don't think I'll ever get over the size of the meals they are enormous and very tasty. Everyone we met from the moment we arrived until we left were just so friendly and helpful. The food was very good indeed. i was surprised by the fact that I booked a double room,and was allocated a Family Room,plus my Daughter was allocated a double room instead of a single. However,both rooms were very comfortable indeed. The bedroom was lovely - fabulously comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Loads of hot water and towels. Very family oriented I imagine - lots of big families having birthday and Communion lunches. Very friendly and welcoming staff. i adored our lovely big air conditioned room complete with jacuzzi,it was fantastic.We ate in the restaurant,it was super...would love to have spent more time there....the location alongside the motorway was perfect for us... The location and the quality of the room was good while it was great to be able to find a parking spot with ease . The bar and bar food was great for a meeting and the staff were most helpful as were those on reception. We loved the facilities at the hotel and spa. The room was spacious and very well equipped - could not have asked for more. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the bar was excellent. Just loved the whole experience . And was sad to come home. The views from our room were lovely .and the sunsets amazing . And as an artist i was able to dable a bit from room . Stayed here a number of times and always have a pleasant stay, rooms well equipped,clean with good wifi connections. Good value for money Food always good. log fire in the reception area...lovely...young, helpful, cheerful staff...beautiful view from bedroom window...big room...location...so close to Belfast. We enjoyed the luxury of the hotel and the fact that they catered for our needs at 6am by arranging an early bacon sandwich for us before our climb. The friendliness of the staff. The only thing i didnt like was having a room next door to 1 of the suites and not being in it :-) ... I could just imagine the lovely jacuzzi bath!. It more than likely doesnt have anything to do with you,but,we were guests at the Wedding on the 23rd August. The food was marvellous,but the live entertainment was far too loud for the size of the room. All you could see for the 2 hour duration of the Band playing,were guests leaning over trying to make themselves heard by talking into someone elses ear. I just sat there for 2 hours not talking to anyone,because it was a waste of time. A bit old-fashioned looking but no matter!. No complaints at all.... There were no negative points and we are returning early in the New Year. Our first room was depressing looking at 10ft wall and gas tanks.just one night. And staff had no issues in moving us next morning .so we were very grateful of that . Never any chocolate dishes for deserts...... absolutely nothing!. Nothing at all. Small portions of some meals. i thought the price was expensive and the breakfast was extra. the toilet was not very clean the cold water had a strange taste was this stored water!. We all found the staff at that leisure centre where very rude which I found tainted the the whole hotel. Main toilets weren't the cleanest, nearest atm to get euro was about 10 miles away. I did not like the fact that our family room was a smoking room. the smell of stale smoke was horrible even after I got air freshener. We did ask to be moved but they were not at all very accommodating in their reply. in saying that I would stay there again. Had to change room at 11.00pm due to fan in bathroom not switching off , couldn't sleep with that noise all night. Staff came up and offered us another room which when I opened the door smelt of Vomit. Third time lucky with another room 6 doors down. Nothing. Service in the bar/bistro was a little slow on the occasion of our visit but the staff were very pleasant. Bed was hard. The breakfast was too big. My wife and I stayed here earlier on this year and we had the same room as before which had a fault: 1. You couldn't turn the heat down and the room got to hot. 2. The fan in the bathroom would not turn off and you could hear it from the bedroom. We had to move rooms at 10pm, they gave us a suite which was very nice and complimentary breakfast but to be honest I was disappointed that they hadn't fixed these problems since our last stay, it was the same room 610. Would like to have a single room for a little cheaper. The solo traveller still has to pay for a double room. Nothing. I once had a noisey couple next door that kept me awake til 3 in the morning but that is just look of the draw. Otherwise perfect stay every time since. really slow broadband!. Location a little out of the way but if you have a car it's fine. The fact I was asked to pay as soon as I arrived, was not made aware if I used debit card then nothing could be charged to my room during my stay. The decor on my 'Executive Suite' was dull,overlooking a large gas tank, no mini bar and Jacuzzi didn't work. nothing to dislike. n/a. nothing.
