I definitely liked the price and location of the hostel. Was positively surprised how clean room is and it was not much noise during the night so we could sleep normally.
There was a mistake with our booking and we didn't get room with private bathroom but manager was very nice and issued a refund + apology + discount for the next visits :)
So would definitely recommend this hostel to all students and everyone who is looking for cheap, simple and good place for stay. all reviews »
They had computers to use for free, a kitchen to cook in from 8am to 10pm, they can keep your electronics behind the desk and charge them, free suckers, awesome staff, pretty good location, connected to a great cafe, good hangout space too.

Felt very safe and was quiet.
Nice stay in this stylish hotel in the heart of dublin . Clean rooms ; friendly international staff ; really good atmosphere ; the free breakfast .
Good location and value for money. Stayed as a group of friends for a night out and was a cheap bed for the night.
Staff were extra friendly and accommodating. Clean warm bed, everything was perfect. Thank you.
my stay at avalon house was no too bad and the staff where fantastic very clean and tidy.
Friendly staff, free breakfast (basic but when free you can't complain!).
Ideal location - good value for money - did what it said on the blurb.
open all hours, clean, friendly, reasonable price, en suite bathroom.

Perfect location and great value for money.
Kitchen was good, very good location.
Good value for money.
Perfect.
Very nice hostel in the centre of dublin, grafton street is really near 5 minutes walk.
Very good breakfast included and bar inside. Large common spaces, wi-fi and free pc, very large kitchen.
One guy working reception was very helpful. The other couple I spoke with seemed jaded. Location was good.
excellent position in the centre of the city.
Location and price.
Breakfast.
It is close to a nice pub.
There is a coffee house on the first floor with really nice coffee and food.
The beds were good.
The security is of the building seems to be good.
Avalon House is perfectly located. Within few minutes walk you are in the city center.
The location is extremely convenient and for being an hostel in dublin it is not bad.
Location wasn't totally central but it was near Whelan's which was cool.
Breakfast was nice.
Upper bed was doing loud cracking noise every time when person above is moving - quite annoying if you're a light sleeper.
I didnt like the shower in my room so I went to use a different one instead. Bathrooms are also small.
Breakfast should not be described as continental very basic selection but still grand for fuel to start the day.
There is a big problem with the bathroom ; the room was clean but the bathroom was discusting too old and really dirty with no hot shower the last day.
I liked everything about it.
the noise during late night time.
double booked our friends room, sockets didn't work in our room, no towels.
They could use some new blankets..
nothing to dislike.
very very noisy people next our room two nights.
The heating was not sufficient for the cold Dublinese days.
Poor breakfast, a bit smelly room.
Not even a bath towel to put your feet on.
elevator at third floor was broken, sink faucets to press everytime, ..they are very uncomfortable.
Kitchen is very large but there are a lot of people so it was difficult to cook and the electric cookers are few.
They bill themselves as the best hostel in Dublin. A far far second to where I stayed previously. Old and funky is fine which it was but the room was dirty like a worn out shoe.
in comparison with several hostels of the "famous hostels" chain, it's the less comfortable, good-looking and clean.
It is not allowed to drink even a beer within the building!.
Sleeping in a room with strangers.
noisy.
It was very loud.
The floor plans for fire escape are not accurate.
The pillows are very dusty. If you have an allergie it might be better to bring your own.
The breakfast is frugal.
The reception staff was very unfriendly and not interested at all.
Wi-Fi area was to small.
No wi-Fi in the room.
Room very small.
The showers were old and too small.
the shower is a push-type and the spaces are extremely tiny. in certain rooms the heating was not on and it was really cold.
The beds were super uncomfortable and small and the computers didn't work.
The room was unreasonably small considering what we payed. There was
false advertising of wifi everywhere. The hotel staff gave us faulty
information on multiple occasions. The bathrooms were unclean and there
weren't very many available.
