We absolutely loved our stay at Gannons's B&B. So much so that we stayed an extra night - eight nights in total. Lovely big quiet room at the back of the top floor apartment. We had an en suite bathroom and shared the living room/kitchen area. Really useful having use of the kitchen to make picnics and store things in the fridge. Great location for driving to many parts of connamara with great mountain climbs and beach walks. Had a beautiful upstairs room with use of kitchen and sitting room with stove. Staff very friendly and helpful, a big thank you to Paula for the lovely breakfasts and all the advise ensuring we made the most of our stay in this beautiful part of Ireland. Gerry was extremely helpful and kind, attentive to all of our questions and needs. The B&B's location is perfect: only a block's walk to pubs, restaurants, and shopping. Yet, at the same time, just a short drive, or walk, out of town and you are in the mountains of Connemara, or along the beaches of County Galway. Gerry gave us some good advice regarding where to find the best traditional music sessions. On our next trip, I will plan to stay there again. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast had a good range of choices and staff were very helpful. The location was excellent as it was a 2 min walk to all the good restaurants and pubs. Parking outside in the street was free after 6pm to 11am - great. Clifden is a good stopover point for the Connemara circuit. We would have liked to have had several days there as the annual arts festival was in full swing. My family of four stayed with Gerry in early May for two days. He welcomed us on arrival and gave us a tour of our rooms. He was always around to answer our questions and really gave top notch customer service. The facilities were spotless the location in Clifden could not have been any more central. I would book Gannon's again without a second thought. The facilities are excellent, with use of a lovely living room and kitchen. The location is right in the middle of Clifden town, near some lovely restaurants and shops. Went there during the arts festival to run a half marathon and will hopefully be returning when we have more time. No Kleenex available. Breakfast contained no eggs, bacon or sausages. No hot foods. exterior not charming bikes need some tuning up. Next time we will go with the ensuite instead of the room with private bathroom. Leaving :-). all was ok. Too good. Do not want to leave. Nothing. Accessibility might be a problem for some visitors.
