The best b & b we have ever stayed in. Very nice & helpful hosts. Nice room, very comfortable. Soft & large towels, modern decor. A beautiful area. A short walk to Portmagee harbor. A great place for a holiday. We enjoyed the b & b, the hosts and Valentia Iceland. Many thanks to Mary for all the tips for trips. The breakfast was very good, I had a fantastic French toast. I hope we can go there again soon. I'm sure this is one of the best b & b in all of Ireland.
all reviews » Both my wife and myself loved everything about shealane guest house. I would say it was easily the best we have stayed in. Jim and Mary ,the owners were very hospitable, the breakfasts amazing and the house itself was beautifully located. I don't think we have stayed in any hotels which could compete with the hospitality of the owners and the range and quality of the breakfasts. A big thank you to them both for a memorable trip. Gerry and ethna Kelly Belfast. Lovely view of the bay and harbour of Port Magee which was within walking distance just over the bridge where you can take a boat tour of the Skellig Islands. Shealane is in a convenient location to other areas on The Ring of Kerry. Jim and Mary of Shealane were very gracious, friendly, and most helpful in answering our questions about the area. Breakfast was something to look forward to with beautiful views of the bay and the food was top notch. Owners exceptionally friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Beautiful views all around. Just gorgeous. Within walking distance of the Skellig Experience Visitor Centre. Mary even made reservations for us ahead of time with Des Lavelle for our trip out to Skellig Michael. We were fortunate to have cooperating weather and were able to land and explore the island. Couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. A fantastic b & b set in a relaxing landscape in the midst of nature. Mary and Jim did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Unfortunately we could not reach Skellig's Islands due to the rough sea. On the other hand we were able to appreciate the beauty of the countryside around the hotel and Valentia Island. Shealane is quite simply a one-off. Hosts who had thought of virtually everything to make your stay memorable and the best breakfast we had so far had in Ireland! Safety jackets provided for short walk over blustery bridge to Port Magee for the evening - with unusually family-oriented and delightful pub ents. And kippers for breakfast. Great place!.
