A fantastic location opposite the excellent Indus restaurant, close to Sedona Spa and yet amongst serene rice paddies, Ananda Cottages is a great mid-range place to stay in Ubud. You're out of the bustle but only a few minutes to Cental Ubud. Rooms are elegant in an understated Balinese way, beds very comfortable with the hand held shower the only weak point. The safe are very friendly and helpful.
all reviews » This was a very, very pleasant hotel. Nice grounds, nice staff, good breakfast and spacious rooms with large balconies or verandas. The linen was clean and white. The pools were perfect temperature, some hotels I have stayed at in Bali the pools have been very cold. I will stay here next visit to Bali for sure. Absolutely beautiful for 3 Stars. Loved the open roof bathroom and patio with Indonesien furniture and beautiful hand carved wooden door. Great firm mattress. Large breakfast buffet. Beautiful gardens with rice field right outside our room. Very polite and helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Lovely swimming pools rice paddys and relaxation places. breakfast very good. rooms clean, spacious and just right for Bali. Staff very helpful and happy to arrange drivers and events. Gardens,bali design,location in rice fields,3 swimming pools,always clean,close to Ubud,friendly helpful staff,Wayan Korja driver,close to other eating places,mini mart almost next door. The gardens and pools are beautiful and the staff were nice and friendly. My room was always keept clean the beds were extremely comfortable. Also I loved the walk into town everyday!. Great traditional style hotels with stunning surrounds. Great variety for breakfast. Our room was beautiful, couldn't fault the view. Pools were awesome and facilities well kept. What an amazing place!! It's total paradise. The setting is amazing. The rooms are clean, spacious. The staff are so helpful and friendly. I can't wait to go back.. We loved our cottage and the setting,the staff are lovely and helpful.Truly blissful sitting on our terrace listening to the wild life and the Balinese music. The placement and disposition of the rooms. loved the peaceful tranquil surrounds. Loved the size of the rooms, 4 poster bed, yoga room and the layout of the resort around gardens and rice paddies. It looked very nice upon initial inspection. We liked the natural surroundings beautiful gardens and rice paddy setting. Quite & peaceful Large bungalow room Nice gardens Good value for money. Breakfast buffet is plentiful but a little uninspired. Our room was a little dark which made reading in the room difficult even with all the lights on. They were not all like this though as family staying on the other side of the hotel had very light airy rooms. Rooms need better lighting. Breakfast buffet always cold. The food at the restaurant was ok but you can find the most amazing food in ubud so its hard to live up to this quality. Some maintenance required around the bathroom-but minimal. Not the friendliest reception staff Ive encountered in Bali, but not too hard to deal with. The room was quite damp this visit as it rained most days, difficult to dry clothing. Nothing. The long distance to the pools. no tv or internet. The superior room was very dark, the bathroom terrible (my shower sprayed everywhere with no curtain to contain it, and no curtains for privacy on the bathroom windows either), there was no map of the huge resort in the room so I couldn't find 2 of the 3 pools, the staff were quite 'short' with us and hard to talk to, the pillows were far too high and heavy for the normal human being, and the location was a 50 000 rupee taxi drive from anywhere. Very slippery steps and our room 14 b had very musty smell caused by dampness coming thru the walls been like for years and fixable but building a canopy over the steps on the bathroom side at the back. Bull frogs concert all night long... A bit remote from Ubud. Motorbike needed.
