Right from the moment we arrived at Awan Villas the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our villa was well appointed and comfortable. The requested cot with mosquito net was set up for us and a high chair provided. The free transfers to wherever we wanted to go to in Seminyak meant we could start each day hassle free. The staff at reception were always happy to make phone calls on our behalf to clarify information or make bookings. Wi Fi was reliable and on the one instance that it was down, rec.
all reviews » Good location for Seminyak. Away from the crowds of Kuta but close enough in case you want to go there or Ubud. We covered all we wanted to do in Bali in 5 days. The staff was attentive. Breakfast that was included was plentiful. American style breakfast included eggs, pancakes, bread basket, fruits etc. The villa and pool were clean. The villa is spacious and clean. The swimming pool is very nice and the staffs are excellent. Anything that you request will be in front of your door in less than 5 mins. I'm recommending it to my friends and families who wish to stay in villa at Bali. Overall is totally satisfied and worth it for every cents you spent. -- Quiet: near Seminyak, but away from the crowd. $2 taxi ride from Seminyak center. -- Luxurious, private villa with good size private pool -- Large, open living and dining room with kitchenette -- Very clean and superbly maintained -- New property: 1.5 years old -- In-villa breakfast included. The villa was nice, clean & tidy. The price is pretty reasonable if you're looking for something simple & comfortable. There's convenience store in walking distance with almost everything you need. The private pool was a great size. Although not in seminyak central the villas are far more quiet and peaceful. The breakfast each morning was also great. The living area of the villa is outside but it didn't get that wet when it rained and we had a lot of rain during our stay. The infinity pool and the fact that it was private for our own personal use with the 2 bedroom villa. The staff of Awan is very sweet and helpful. The villa and the pool was big. The villa and faclities is great. Everything else. The only negative for some people is that you will need a car service or rental motorbike to get around. Not too many restaurants within walking distance. There is a nearby mini-mart. But in Indonesia people don't walk around they use motorbike anyway so no big deal for me. -- Mosquitoes in the area (all over Bali). The location is not so good if you'd like to walk to beach or town. It's okay to drive or take the taxi. Nothing !. The room service menus are need some improvement, we prefer authentic local menus. Location is a bit on the outside of town, but as the staff provide top-notch local transport service that wasn't a big deal. Also, taxis were extremely easy to get and cost 'nothing'. A gym would have been nice. There is no beach by walking distance in which we could swim. So have to travel to Seminyak or Kuta for beaches, which might not be so convenient as traffic in Bali is terrible. But could always just swim and relax in the villa pool!. The outdoor shower has granite stones that gathered a lot of moss. A bit dirty. No real connecting door between rooms Need to cover between rooms to kitchen since if it is raining, then you will get wet You have to use car/vehicle if gou want to go. Can't stroll near villas since the road has no pedestrian and busy road. Very dangerous if you walk the road. Animals Mosquitos Aussie breakfast (you need to eat local!). Moskitos. mozzies nearly killed us. The location is actually too far from kuta beach or other location. We normally need to take taxi but the taxi fee is quite cheap. The free shuttle bus service is not very convenient because you do not have much choice for the locations. Nothing. It was kinda dim near the swimming pool. Could have lighten up the place at night. Should have more variety for breakfast. The only thing I can comment on here is that the driver was late to pick us up from the airport and we had to wait 40minutes for him. He was extremely apologetic and when we saw the traffic we understood why he was late. That it was not as described. It was not a 5 minute walk to the beach, it did not have a restaurant as advertised, it was not close to shopping and the standard of the in room meals were poor. Everything was in the open except the bedroom. The living room, shower area, kitchen was all in the open n Bali is famous for endless Mosquitos. At least the shower area needs to be covered. The location is far from the main area but the hotel provides free shuttle to the main square. Poor room preparation and staff service. We both got biten by bed bugs from the outdoor sofa, and possibly the bed too. Breakfast could be better.
