The location is fantastic with the beach at the back door and a treasure trobe of beautiful restaurants on the boardwalk beside the Jayakarte. Been to Bali 8 times and will definitely be coming back to the Jayakarte. They even upgraded us to a poolside room when we checked in. Best holiday in Bali ever and the Jayakarte was the reason for this! :). Its my fourth stay and I recognise staff from previous visits which I like. I adore the gardens and the openess of the whole complex. I also love to be on the beach so one can wander along the waterfront to go to different restaurants. I love the fact that you have three swimming pools and also three quite different areas to have breakfast.

I have stayed in this hotel many times before and it satisfies all my needs in terms of comfort, facilities, food, staff, location etc. Super location, nice environment, a day staying in the hotel is great, the pool, restaurants atmosphere. Three pools, beachside location, lovely gardens, friendly staff, good breakfast. proximity to beach and shops. The pools were lovely, breakfasts were alright. I noticed this time that there appeared to be a lot more people smoking in the eating areas. This I particularly did not like and would even consider staying elsewhere in future if I can find smoke free complexes. The Balinese need to be better educated on smoking and passive smoking. In Australia you cannot smoke in any restaurant and often not even around building areas and they are even stopping it in the main streets of the city which I wholeheartedly support. Bad traffic to get in and out of the hotel. - very slow internet wifi -hotel is a bit crowdy. small insects on a floor and in bathroom. On this occasion the air-con in my room was not very efficient. With our arrival they couldn't find us in their system so we weren't really welcomed. We had to ask somebody to please show us the room and help is with the luggage. So the kindness of the reception was the only thing what disappointed us. But with checking out it was much better. Apartments are a fair way from pools, beds clean but mattress quite hard. 'deluxe rooms' needed upgrading as tiles, paintwork etc looked very worn on arrival receptionist said we could be 'upgraded to an apartment'. After looking at it, it was the apartment that needed 'upgrading'!! It was fairly dark and smelt musty so we were offered a 'deluxe room' instead. Extra charges applied to credit card after departure. Get staff to double check minibar and linen from your room before you leave. Hotel does not reply to emails. Could provide more shade / umbrellas at pools. Standard room on second stay. Would prefer shower not in Bath. Breakfast could've had more variety, each day the same. Was hoping for mangoes for breakfast. Mostly ok. Facilities in the room was quite poor. Room need to be updated. no fresh water in rooms. Wi-Fi is no good. Having stayed many times, the staff have lost much of their friendliness. Breakfast quality has also declined somewhat since our last visit. The rooms could do with a makeover, but are none the less comfortable. Initial garden view was actually a view of a sewerage facility Hotel is quite tired, but I guess you get what you pay for Breakfast was poor, no variety, same every day, they kept running out of bacon. No games facilities for teenage kids out of the pub area.Maybe a separate games room would be a good idea. Decor in rooms is sparse and dated.Could to with a bit of a redo. Prices of food and drinks from the hotel were very highly priced considering the surrounding prices of other bars and restaurants. Breakfast. Same every day and no attempt to keep flies off food in the open, very off putting. No plasma TV and the air con was terrible, they need to update the rooms. Some of the staff went helpful .thepool bar wanted to charge us for a glass of ice and there was no free bottled water in rooms every day the whle place is very old and it needs updating. Very big complex, pool always crowded. Hotel has got a bit grubby, broken floor and wall tiles, broken furniture in bedroom. We were eaten alive with mosquitoes in our bedroom, we left the light on in the bathroom and later the bathroom was covered in bugs which came out of a louvre shaft door. Underneath the vanity in the bathroom was filthy. You get what you pay for and not the room you have choosen. Say you choose a deluxe room for 1 m idr then you get a small standart room for 1 m Idr. The receptionist said after complaining : this stanard room we sell normaly for more that you paid, the bill does not state the room typ but only "room rate". Lost our booking (at midnight) Put us in horrible rooms with not only a bank of air conditioners at the rear door but also an industrial air on unit for another building. Rooms weren't together No apology or suggestion of correcting. This is the 2nd and last time I will stay there as a similar thing happened before as well.
