It is very clean and modern. Has pretty much all you need, within the limits of decency. The location can be a shock, especially if it is your first time in Jakarta/Indonesia. Better take a taxi from airport and avoid any walking in that area. As a European tourist, I'd skip the breakfast at Rumah Shinta anytime :)). But I would choose this little hotel again for a 1 night stay ( transit ).. Make sure you ask for a room with window!.
all reviews » Airport pickup was as promised. Had a very small but VERY CHEAP and CLEAN room with AIR CONDITIONING, FLATSCREEN TV, CLEAN WESTERN TOILET and HOT SHOWER. What else do you need as single traveller?! Moreover the staff was VERY NICE and FRIENDLY. For the price of 135.000 Rupiah per night this is a real bargain. VERY RECOMMEND. Will come back for sure. RUMAH SHINTA RAWKS!!! :-). Highly recommended. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Internet very fast at the lobby. Close to Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (Seaworld, Roller coaster, cable car, beach and alot more). It's a playground. Also close to Mangga Dua Mall, where you can shop till you drop! :). It is a decent and clean enough budget hotel. The rate was reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is near the main road and can easily get a taxi. The room is too small, but its what we paid for, as it's more for a budget stay. Breakfast choice is very limited, should add at least 1 option of western meal. Only thing that was not fair - at the check-in they said that we need to leave some deposit, which they can accept in cash or reserve from the credit card, but on both cases they give it back to you in cash on the check out. In our case was not so good as we were heading straight to airport from the hotel and leaving the country - so local cash was just not needed. But we found a solution with staff - they accepted deposit in us dollars and gave it back in usd after (good that we had some). no wifi in room, limited english tv channels. The bed squeaks 2. the shower kits is of poor quality that the slide bar falls out of the mounting bolts easily. 3. the writing table is a piece of board mounted onto the wall using L-brackets which are too soft for palm-rest and your lap-top on the table may slide and fall to the ground. 4. hardly to find room for lugagge. Have some difficulty to talk with the hotel staffs in English !. high amount of deposit - 50$ - no cooperation wifi was broken. Room are very small. Dirty Sheets--> watch carrefully you can find hair and stains on them, they just don't wash them between each customers! If dirty, please tell them and they'll change the sheets and maybe they'll finally learn it's important!!!. Small room, rather unclean, wifi was slow, safe didn't work. Extremely small room. Not suitable for family of young children. The place stinks and is dirty and by the way they do no longer provide breakfast. A complete rip off. To noisy........ I had bed bug bites everywhere. I couldn't sleep because it was itchy. I had terrible nights. They don't change sheets. It was smelly too. Didn't have hot shower either. Do not recommend.
