We chose this hotel because of the previous reviews that we had read. We were not disappointed! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely and have a good range of facilities. My husband liked the fitness room on one of the lower floors, he described it as being well equipped. The buffet breakfast was super - a full range of everything! Sit on the balcolny as it gives you a really good view of the lower floor of the hotel. The staff are very friendly and will do anything for you, ask them to r - Roger

I stayed here one night and found it to be a nice little hotel and really good value for money. It has a nice gym in the basement and small pool on sixth floor. Staff were very good and friendly and arranged transport for us to go to the hill resort where our meeting was the next day. Across the street are good restaurants (pizza joint with good live music) and next door to that a nasi padang place. Shopping mall is walking distance as well. - Marilyn

I spent three nights at the Gran Mahakam and grew to like the cozy cocoon away from the smog, noise and congestion that is Jakarta. The hotel is smaller--more of a European boutique--and is decorated in a French chateau or Italian villa style. Very nice, but somewhat surreal given the exotic Asian context. You know you are in a sketchy and possibly dangerous city, when your taxi has its trunk checked upon arrival and you must put your luggage and yourself through a security screening machine to - Joanne
