My husband and I stayed at the Marygio in Dec. 2013, It was an overall great experience. This small hotel is run by a warm Italian couple who really made us feel at home. The rooms were beautiful and spacious and were cleaned at least twice daily. The breakfast was excellent and huge with their special home made bread and Italian coffee. The hotel very well located, a 2 min. walk to the beach and 5 minutes from the busy area of the island, so one can be spared from the disco beats at night. The.
all reviews » As it was a family ran business and there were only limited rooms available, the owners really hosted us very well during our stay there. It made us feel as though we were staying over at a friend's place. The room was clean and the breakfast was a hearty spread. We had good wifi in our room, being able to easily load Facebook and whasapp messages. The pool was very clean too. I like that it is slightly off the main stretch. But walking back to the resort would require one to carry a torch . Brandnew hotel (opened june 2013), very nice and modern design. Well located, because not direct next to the noisy mainstreet, but only 3 minutes to walk there and to the beach. Room and bathroom are spacious and absolutly clean. The breakfast was great (pancakes, fresh fruits and juices, omelette, fresh(!!) bread and cake of the day)! The staff was so nice and kind...especially thanks to Giorgia (the daughter of the italian owner) for the many many helpful information and the delicious italia. Gili Trawangan is an backpacker island. We stayed during low season and it was probably less crowded than in the highseason, but there were still many people and much action. Despite of the season, the Marygio Resort is the perfect hotel for your stay in beautiful Gili Trawangan because you have it quiet here and the party only few steps away. Low-WiFi in our room. If I had to come up with something I'd say the room is a bit dark, but this is really nitpicking!. Something we found out about before arriving and wish to pass on: wherever you go on Gili t, you will hear a Mosque and Cockerels in the morning. These are designed to be heard and cannot be attributed to an issue with any resort or hotel on the island. Nothing. Having to leave!. The hotel is brand new so it is a bit difficult to find at arrival, they should register their address. If you have luggage, take the horse carrier. There is this rooster and well indeed it is doing it's thing but his timing is really off :). Nothing. Unfortunatelly, we had some bad luck with noice every morning. Thuis was caused by chickens and constructionwork. Better directions coming of the boat would be great. The way from hotel to main street is completely dark in the evening. There are no lights. It is a short way but when you're alone it's a bit scary.
