The newer hotel is across the road from the original and thats the one to stay in ..its set back. Our room, double delux was lovely, contemporary lovely decor and the bathroom was great. .wonderful shower, hot running water. We ate across the road at the original hotel. ..the food was very good.
The location is perfect for the Taj Mahal a 10 - 15 min walk...go early, 6am as we did, you get your entry ticket, shoe covers and a single entry in....

Really nice western standard luxury hotel. We did get upgraded to a business class room so it was even nicer. The value for money was really great. Since it's so close to the Taj Mahal, you can just walk there. The restaurant has a wide selection on the buffet. The pool is also quite nice.

We had the most wonderful experience at the hotel. We arrived early one morning (8.30am) and were escorted to our room; asked for a late check out the next day and once again, they obliged. The hotel was beautifully decorated, the rooms were spacious and well
equipped. We booked ourselves in for a massage which was very good
although at £35 for an hour - quite expensive. Staff were friendly and
helpful although probably a little too imposing. The pool looked lovely
although it was too cold when we visited to actually swim in it. The
room had a a view of the Taj Mahal.

The hotel is amazing in every aspect!! Very beatiful, great atmosphere, the pool is always blue, great service at the pool. The staff is amazing and hepfull. Food breakfast is 800rupees, but worth a lot, it is a buffe wide variety of indian and western food. The room is very nice! Spcace enough, great bed, silent. 10m walking from Taj Mahal! -

I liked the fact that the hotel is very clean and fresh, having been newly built in 2012, and there is attention to keeping a high standard of cleanliness. There are also modern conveniences, and the food is good. The owner and all the staff work harmoniously as one family, and there is a good, cheerful feeling, and all are genuinely helpful, including the humble, kind tour guide Bindi, who told us things about the ghats that we were not aware of.

Reception was good. Mr. Anand was very helpful. The room was nice and clean. The location was perfect for visit to Taj Mahal. Food was good but could improve. The roof top was a nice place to hangout. The swimming pool looked very nice but I couldn't use it since water was too cold. Will definitely go back whenever possible. All in all was a good experience. I would recommend this hotel to all.

The rooms at The Retreat are lovely and much larger than those at other similarly priced hotels in Agra, bathrooms are well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff had a very flexible attitude towards guests knowing many try to get to the Taj early. The hotel food is great - we had the room service which was excellent and well-priced. -

You can walkey to Taj Mahal from the hotel. Agra fort is really close too (about 10 mins cab ride) the hotel had a cafe and restaurant which was the cleanest I've seen in The nearby areas. -
I personally felt like it is located very near to taj and is more secured and the facilities available there are really good and maintained well. Keep it up
