I can honestly say that the Oberoi Grand in Kolkata provides the best service we have ever experienced in a hotel (and we have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world.) This hotels serves as an example of how a hotel should be run. The location is also perfect. Many hotels are described as an oasis away from the hubbub, but it is hard to describe the difference between outside the gate to the Grand and inside if one has never experiences Kolkata. all reviews » The Hotel is like a oasis of calm in crowded city Kolkata. As soon as you enter the Hotel you hear nothing from the traffic. The view at the Swimming-pool is amazing!! Very friendly staff, well trained, and perfect hospitality!! You feel at home as soon as you enter. Just Perfect and real 5***** Hotel. This must be one of the best hotels in the world .I had such a wonderful experience .The staff are exceptional along with the facilities and dinning .The rooms are elegant matching the atmosphere . A very centrally located hotel. The service was par excelence. It was a oasis of comfort and luxury in the heart of a bustling and somewhat chaotic city. The staff were excellent from the cleaners and gardeners to the waiters and reception. They are all to be congratulated. Simply divine. A step above "regular" five star hotels. Being asked lots of questions when I arrived and all I wanted to do was have a wash and get to my first meeting. Cockroaches in spa. The bar prices were very high, but there is a bottle shop two blocks down.
