What people say
The hotel is located very close to the old harbour where the whale watching trips depart from and is also in easy walking distance of the main centre and close to many restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, making us a take away breakfast for our early morning flight. The room was lovely, spacious and very clean. We would love to stay here again!.
A really nice, friendly hotel in an attractive residential street just a few minutes from the city centre and close to the old harbour. Friendly, helpful staff, spacious, nicely furnished room, really comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast with interesting, quality produce. All in all a fantastic, excellent value place to stay in central Reykjavik !. all reviews »
This hotel offers a great location. It is a 5 minute walk to the
downtown area. It was cheaper than other centrally located hotels. The
staff was very helpful with a couple calls to our tour providers. We
were able to have a bagged lunch for our early morning flight. The
breakfast was good with a nice variety. The bed was great.
From the moment you walk in the door, one of "The Team Hilda" meets you with a welcome and friendly smile. We stayed there for four nights in September and it was very clean, cozy and the bed was so comfortable! The breakfast was incredible! Hotel Hilda is an accommodation we would highly recommend!.
Location ideal for exploring Reykjavik - attractive though smallish room (but large bathroom) with all that tourists (but maybe not business) need. Parking easy. Attractive building in quiet street. Staff very helpful including for our late arrival in the dark. Good breakfast.
The staff was especially welcoming and available. The breakfast was complete and it was easy to interact with others in the small dining room or the conservatory. The room was simple, very clean and quiet. But the caveat of this hotel is its high green rating!.
The staff were very friendly and willing to help me figure out places to
go in the city. They even recommended some local bands that were
playing. There was almost always somebody there and when nobody was in,
contact details were left along with a phone.
Helpful And friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts which would keep you going past lunch. Brilliant and central yet quiet location good for bus pick ups, restaurants etc. Best holiday ever. Reykjavik now my favourite city. Thank you Hotel Hilda.
Hotel Hilda was fantastic. Located in a beautiful residential neighborhood (sort of like the Village of Reykjavik), but yet close (2 blocks) to some of the best restaurants! Very quiet, yet urban. Good food. Nicely designed.
Really loved this friendly little hotel. Location was excellent, very close to town with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Perfectly cleaned room everyday, lovely breakfast and extremely helpful reception staff.
Loved the hotel - great breakfast - they even packed me a takeaway one
when I left early for my flight. Staff all very helpful and welcoming
but it was also a relaxed atmosphere. Felt very safe as a solo
traveller.
The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful even when we needed some advice and assistance with our car (we left the lights on and the battery was empty). Nice breakfast and a super short walk to the center!.
The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. The beds were comfortable. The room was warm and kept immaculately clean (thank you to the cleaning lady). Location was good for the town and museums etc.
Very friendly and professional staff, good service, breakfast and wonderful room (even if it was a bit small, which is understandable given the size of the building). The location is very convenient.
A modern but modest hotel in a well maintained older building located in a quiet street very close to the centre of Reykjavik. Smallish but very comfortable rooms and a very nice breakfast.
Extremely helpful staff. We didn't have any problems with the hotel itself while we were staying, but when we had any questions about reykjavik/day trips/transport the staff were excellent.
# very friendly owner n staff
# quiet location yet 2 min walk to central square
# freshly prepared coffee n other items for breakfast.
Location excellent. Quiet street about 2 blocks from central. Breakfast
European delicious. Checked in at 1am. Receptionist very nice. All
staff helpful.
The helpful friendliness of the owner and staff - ideas for where to go in Reykjavik as well as once we left the city and went into the countryside.
Great staff. Small bed and breakfast off the beaten track so very quiet, but only 5 to 10 minute walk to main shopping area and restaurants.
The hotel staff, especially Angela, were very friendly and helpful in recommending places to visit and with booking good restaurants.
Clean, well equipped, good sized comfortable room in a central location for everything in Reykjavik. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable, nicely furnished rooms near
to city centre! I would highly recommend it!.
Decent price for Reykjavik, convenient location. No problems with tour pickups/drop-offs. Breakfast food was lovely.
Staff very helpful and customer orientated. Really good location central for walking into the city.
Great, quiet location away from the noise of the downtown area, but easily walkable.
The location was fantastic and the staff are friendly and very helpful.

Nice breakfast.
the good bed.
We liked this hotel but think we should mention a few things to make
other travelres aware. The room we had (#9) was so small. The bathroom
is also very small. The shower is not a shower unit, just a curtain over
the other half of the bathroom. The floor does flood, but you can ask
for extra towels. The breakfast room is small with seating for 8 people.
A covered outside area (rain or shine) is provided if the room is full.
The hotel is nice and has a great location.
Everything was wonderful!.
Breakfast room is small and not possible to use terrace in winter. Having said that we got a table without waiting both mornings.
Nothing. It's all good.
Could have had more hooks in the bathroom.
The room was very small and there was not much room for storage and relaxation. After using the shower it was difficult to use the toilet as the floor was very wet (until the cleaner came and tidied it).
# shower facilities in the room assigned to us needs improvement urgently.
steep stairs for older people like me!.
Very small room and bathroom.
Limited facilities to meet other guests.
Breakfast seating area a little cosy but breakfast was very good.
Small area for breakfast, which can be difficult if you are in a rush. Our room was right near the front door and reception desk, which didn't feel very private.
Lots of stairs! Sitting area for breakfast quite small. Shower area in bedroom tended to flood. The toilet/shower area is designed as a wet room but does not work to well.
Room and bathroom were a little cramped.
smoll dining room(but it not grate problem).
Small place for breakfast.
Late check-in (3pm).
The bathroom
Small room.
Small washbasins
Narrow beds
No Slippers
Small breakfast room.
Three times somebody working at the hotel (two different persons) just came in to my room without knocking.
