Hótel Geirland is 3 km off the Route 1 Ring Road and 3 minutes’ drive from Kirkjubæjarklaustur village. All rooms offer tea/coffee facilities and views of the surrounding mountain ridge. Some of Geirland’s cosy rooms are set in individual cottages in the garden. Free Wi-Fi and a TV are available in the main building. During warmer weather, breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace. The restaurant and bar provide other meal options. Lunch packs can be made on request. Skaftafell National Park is 60 minutes’ drive from Geirland Hótel. Staff can arrange trips to the isolated highland lake, Langisjór. Fishing licenses for the Geirlandsá River can be bought at the hotel.

This hotel didn't look like much from the outside but was beautiful and comfortable on the inside. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant available to customers served very delicious food. This hotel is a good place to be for day trips to see nature ( mountains, glaciers, puffin tours, hiking,horseback riding etc...) we enjoyed our stay very much. Very friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was great and the proximity of Geirland to Kirkjubaejarklaustur was very convenient. The nearby waterfall and the "church floor" formation was nice as well. Great location for day trips to Skaftafell or Hofn.
all reviews » Nice fresh hotel in the middle of nowhere, but is ideally situated for people driving around Iceland, to make a night stop on the way. Nice spacious rooms and bathrooms, good selection of breakfast items. The hotel was very clean and neat. The hotel stuff were very nice, they even agreed to change our Euro to ISK (at the same rate as the bank!). The horses view from the room is great. The hotel was in a great location near hiking, mountains, and waterfalls. They sold local sweaters and wool goods at better prices than in the major cities. A good small farm hotel with en-suite bathrooms and a good restaurant. excellent staff and service, clean facilities, exactly as advertised. We had dinner and it was delicious. Carpet on floors (negligible though). it is in the middle of nowhere and we could not get a family room but two doubles. like all of Iceland, it is expensive, but especially so for the facilities offered, although no doubt partly because of the remote location and lack of competition. evening menu was particularly expensive. WiFi not working properly. Overpriced restaurant, quality of food like in a bistro. cabin was poor equipped and not worth the price. The staff seemed a bit quiet, tired. Unfriendly staff. Not willing to make your journey pleasant. We arrived at 7. As we were the only guests , they asked us if we wanted to have diner. We said yes but a bit later around 8/830. They said they couldn'T. It was now or never. We had to go to the hotel downtown. Furthermore, the girl in charge at the breakfast was very very unfriendly. As a whole, it's too expensive for what it is. Wifi in public area only. Basic food Soul-less restaurant Only one limp pillow per bed Wi-fi doesn't extend to the rooms. It's very overpriced for what you get.. The hot water comes from a water heater inside the room, and there was not enough of it for the whole 3 of us, only for the first to take a shower. I had to wash myself with cold water, since the heater was extremely slow to heat the water up. I will never stay there again.
