I disagree with previous reviews saying that this is not a 4 star hotel. I stayed at many 4 stars hotel in the past and South Pacific hotel is one of the finest I experienced to date. All facilities and services are true 4-star and beyond. It’s great value for money. I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking forward to a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Hong Kong island. Location is also very good (right next to Time Square) and the hotel has a decent gym room too.
all reviews » I do not understand about the holding deposit being charged then I paid for the room on another charged slip n I have to wait for the hotel to refund me the deposit .....why do I need to have my money held up for a month ...previously the hotel just do a holding deposit n will tear the slip ...now they actually charged it to my credit card .... We really enjoyed this hotel, it was close to public transport and Times Square which had good food and shopping. The concierge was particularly helpful, and after we had a second hotel that didn't live up to our expectations we were able to come back to South Pacific with almost no fuss. Everything was good, smooth check in and out, mini bar free of charge and the most lovely is concierge staff! well done and keep it up. i will give 9.5 for this hotel.. reception ** suggest to be more friendly as little robotic. Hotel is midway between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay High security deposit equivalent to almost one day per room, despite paying for rooms on check-in. The location is very good, the rooms were clean and nice. The staff were polite and helpful. Overall very pleased with this hotel. Easy to reach by metro. locates near Time Sqr. Nothing. There was a slight problem with the plumbing. The shower backed up, and the bathroom sink leaked a little but overall we were pleased. Ice machine on our floor worked intermittently; tap water had an off taste Narrow street and taxi pick-up/ drop-off blocks traffic. Facilities fair rating as the hotel doesn't have a bar for drinks. Found room lights console a bit impractical. No bottled water in room, but no big deal, Seven 11 close by. Nothing. Such a nice hotel but don't provide any complimentary mineral water. Not because i can't pay but others hotels do provide. The TV in our room did not work. Some staff had difficulty in understanding English, but we managed to eventually communicate! Room was a little small. Breakfast did not includes cold cuts; e.g., ham, cheese, just small packages of soft cheese. Nothing. very few tv stations choices - the house keeping noisy whie cleaning the floor - and they charged a deposit and part of the non refund and finally they charged the full amount - though on the terms of payment - they dont mention that you will block the full amount and an extra deposit. i am facing this issue with letsbookhotel.com hotel bookings. Same issue everytime. the hotel blocks the amount and extra and on the T&Cs it doesnt advise of that. The rooms were smaller then we ordered. They block a deposit from your credit card which isn't released for days after check out. Room small bathroom very small TV the size of a small computer screen. Everything about this hotel is SMALL. My room card went malfunction 3 times; each time have to go all the way down to the lobby; very troublesome. Bathroom too small. Receptionist doesn't even smile. Below bed there's so much dust. The staff of the hotel is very rude , they dont smile when they talk to the customers and are very rigid,especially on extension time of check-out, they are very commercial in their dealing and handle customers like supermarket vendors.Unpleasant stay i dont think i would ver stay there again. This is not a 4 stars hotel. The facilities are below this. The shower tiles, bathtub, etc. needs to be properly cleaned. Be aware they can charge way beyond what this is worth!. Bad service I booked a King bed. BUT on my arrival they said you can request, but it's not sure that you will get it. They just gave me a double bed room. after my complain, they just moved the two bed together............ And the room service is really poor. this is not 4 stars hotel at all. so dirty, so smelly, so noisy, but very very expensive... no breakfast. not deserve $200 per night. I'm not recommand this hotel at all. I don't understand high score review..
