Sure, it was old and shabby but what do you expect for the price? For $50 per night, you aren't going to get the Hilton! It's Hong Kong, you can't even rent a flat on a monthly basis for this price! It was like a little apartment with chairs and a table, a fridge and was spacious and bright. I loved the location, a pleasant ten-minute walk from the ferry, where you can get to central Hong Kong or the other outer islands. The lobby was messy and the family ate their dinner there but who spends much time there anyway! And that's normal life for Chinese people.
Very shabby from inside and outside, I had an appartment above the
restaurant. Halfburnt connection box of electric waterheater in shower
compartment, very dangerous. One receptionist spoke very well English,
the other and the people around him hardly. If you are used to four star
holiday resorts you are in for a surprise.
