We checked in late and the owners waited around for us. They were very welcoming and polite. Explained to us all the local stuff to do, how to get there as well as the good places to eat. The rooms were clean and tidy with a fully equipped kitchenette. The location is good as well, around 4km west of Chania. We had a car, which made this a great base to explore Chania and the surroundings. But even without a car the bus stop is not far and service runs regularly to and from Chania. Highly reco.
all reviews » Mrs Kati was very helpful and will ensure that you get the best of your stay. She suggested Elias restaurant nearby which offers Greek homemade cooking. Very very good. Mrs Kati also requested travel agent to give us best price for our trip in Elafonissi and Knossos which we got also at again very good price. Over all stay was very pleasant. Apartments are perfect for people who rent a veichle on the iland, because it is close enough to Chania city and to Platanias, but it is a bit far from everything if you are without a veichle. We really enjoyed the hotel, and also owners are very friendly and helpful (they also helped me to organise my girlfrend`s birthday :) ),... Everything was perfect. The location is near Chania, which is beatiful, and it's good to visit the beatiful beaches at the Akrotiri peninsula, like Kalathas and Stavros beach, and also other nice places nearby. The owners of Balito are very kind and the studios are very clean. We had a very good feeling with this place, especially with the owners. Very friendly people who gave us good advice. Room, pool,... it was all OK. Very good restaurant, just around the corner to the village of Galatas!! Mushrooms, liver,... anything... and great raki!. The staff was very friendly. The position is nice: close to the highway, it's an ideal starting point for discovering the west side. Big and clean room. Near to Gramvousa and Elafonisi. Very clean house with kitchen, close to the city, supermarket and beach. Swimming pool, excelents rooms and good price!. Alles. Very kind family is running the hotel and they help you with every question you have. The hotel is a 8 min walk up the hill. A local medium nice beach is downhill with enough restaurants and super markets. The rooms are spacious and you'll find a a small kitchenette with a fridge and some cooking tools. In our appartment the bathroom was really tiny and the mattresses were kind of too hard for us. The place around was clean and nice. The pool was also good for a quick refreshing but nothing t. You need to get a taxi to go to town which is around 10 Euro. Quite a walk to the beach, but really feasable! (Back goes UP, though;;; ;-)). It could have been more clean. No tend for the shower. Niets. Not so nice in our opinion: -hard mattresses -rooms need a little renovation and the bathroom installations need to be replaced or repaired -maybe not a good choice for single couples who don't want to be disturbed by the screaming of other guests children.
