This is a small, family owned hotel. When we arrived, we felt it was a little bit away from the city, specially at night when it is dark. But then we realized that Santorini is SUPER SAFE and there is nothing to worry about. It might be a 10 minute walk to downtown, but believe me, you are going to walk like crazy in Greece, up and down hill, so better get used to it. We enjoyed three nights at Galatia Villas and were favorably impressed with the hospitable hosts, fairly quiet location, decent breakfast and clean room. Our hosts were able to help us locate our luggage, which had gotten delayed in Rome, and didn't arrive until the next morning, find taxis, and find reasonably priced restaurants, etc. Although the room was fairly small, it was very clean, with a nice balcony area outside with ocean views (other side than the caldera). We stayed here for 4 nights, really happy with our choice. Hotel reception was very friendly, provided restaurant recommendations. Very nice room with our own balcony, bright, clean, nice bathroom, hairdryer, fridge. Computer in main room with free internet access for guests. Location was good, no caldera view but easy walk into Fira main square and bus station (less than 10min), very good price for Santorini, great value. - Alberto
