Information about the area

Ermoupolis is the main town of Syros and also the administrative capital of the Cyclades. A period of great wealth and elegance in the 17th and 18th centuries left Hermoupolis with grand-scale neoclassical buildings.

The central Miaoulis square is a great place to start exploring. It hosts the large town hall and is surrounded by cafés. From here, visitors can stroll from the church to the museum, then onto the market and finish at the waterfront. Ano Syros, with its medieval town, and Vrondado, topped by the church of Anastasis, climb high above the shoreline of Hermoupolis. There are many beautiful monuments and buildings in Ermoupolis.

The small rocky beaches of Taliro and Vagelidi are 200 metres away from Vaporia. Saint Nicolas church is 400 metres away. Agios Dimitrios church and Hermoupolis Harbour are both 1 km away from the suites.

Travelling information

By Taxi: You can find one at the port or at the TAXI station (it is 100m from the dock). Tell to the TAXI driver to drive you to VAPORIA at “Politis corner”. The cost is about 3 Euros. By Bus: You can reach us by city bus “Athletic Centre - Doxa”: It is free. The bus service is every 30 minutes, from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm, except Sundays. You can take the bus from the bus stop at the port, opposite “Goody's” restaurant and you will get off at “Vourlis” bus stop (it is one stop before the terminal).
